Here We Grow Again - Another Blog!

This from an Aussie by the name of Barnoz. My thanks to Rob at One Man's Kingdom for posting the link that made me aware of this:

http://barnoz.wordpress.com/2007/12/16/keep-it-comin/

Barnoz seems to be talking about "male revitalization" as opposed to taking feminism's shit apart. Well. . . that sounds like a refreshing new approach!

Enjoy!

Re: Here We Grow Again - Another Blog!

Not quite sure what the blog is about..

I dont see how growing a tash or appealling to gay culture has much to do with anything of importance..

Am i missing something?

Sure, i applaud the new approach, bashing feminism is too easy as well as pretty frustrating, only it aint that new, isnt this what the myopetoiec mens movement or whatever it is called was about back in the old days?

Maybe when there are a few more entries we will see better!

"...isnt this what the myopetoiec mens movement or whatever it is called was about back in the old days?"

Umm. . . .no, "male revitalization" is a rather different concept - although there may be a certain overlap with the MPMM.

But anyhooo. . .trouble with the MPMM is, that it wasn't about ripping feminism's guts out. Those guys were too much like bewildered little boys trying to capture some sort of Lost Innocence. They lent themselves too easily to parody.

We today, are about ripping feminism's guts out!Well....at least I am!

And yet, having clearly understood what is crucial and of the essence TODAY, I can still see how pounding on drums in the woods just might be jolly good fun sometimes. Why not? Just for a change of pace. . .

BTW, didja catch that "army man" pic? Doesn't look much like the old MPMM spirit if ya ask me. . .

Indeed, indeed, ripping out slutguts while banging a drum seems perfectly excellent.. I was just a bit concerned that maybe it was some sort of "macho gay" thing, you know, with all the tash talk and that..

Not that that is particularly a problem, other than my back pussy portal always slams shut and starts to chew cloth whenever I suspect homonoidal influences in the MRM..

I once sported a fine RAF style handlebar special as a pipe smoking young man..

Theoretically speaking, i suspect it would be possible to even have a "cock duster" on ones top lip without neccesarily having to use it for that purpose.. hitler himself had a fairly interesting nosemuff..

Having said that, I reckon the shunters are probably the best examples of "MGTOW" and they certainly have plenty of opportunities to bugger it up for the feminists should they try..

Its always good to check out new blogs, i will have to creat my own one day, but I need to remove finger from rear rapido and get my writing focused and on Topric..

Re: Here We Grow Again - Another Blog!

Fidelbogen, thanks for supporting my blog. I am pretty new to the men's movement and to blogging so I am still finding my way round.

In particular I am also still developing my thoughts. There are plenty of sites that attack feminism, and fair enough. But it is my belief that in many aspects of life you can't simply destroy something and then dust off your hands. That's easy. You have to promote something positive and constructive instead.

I would also add that it would be a grave mistake for men to use the men's movement to denigrate or hate women across the board. This is as bad as the femi-nazis. You can easily find men that hate women in bars across the world; it would be a lost opportunity if we allowed forums and blogs to simply replicate that.

Ha, I agree Moustaches might appear to be an odd topic to begin a blog on, perhaps? Some background might be necessary for those not lucky enough to live in Australia ;-)

In 2003, several blokes started an annual fundraising drive for men's health, in which they all grew a moustache in the month formerly called Movember. They start clean shaven and grow it over four weeks.

Movember has grown exponentially and in 2007 Movember Australia raised $13 MILLION in donations. 96 000 guys in Australia grew a mo this year, and it has now spread to the UK, Canada, the USA, New Zealand and Spain.

After a 14% admin fee (below the charity standard of 35%) the remaining 86% is divided between two charities, the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia and beyond blue, which is a national depression institute. You only have to take a quick look at the facts to see that:

* 3000 Australian men die of prostate cancer per year (as many as women die of breast cancer). Prostate cancer is our #2 cancer death in Oz.
* The male suicide rate in Australia is four times the female rate
* For people aged 15-24 the male suicide rate is SEVEN times the female rate

So Movember is blokes actually having a laugh, making a difference and probably most importantly, raising awareness about men's health in a way that is fun and gets blokes listening.

I grew a mo this year and have kept it (despite plenty of instructions from girls to shave it off). But my motivation to keep it on is that my uncle died of cancer, and I have known two blokes my age kill themselves.

That actually hurts a bit more than the raw statistics. So I support Movember because it is positive, fun and constructive.

Hence you'll have to forgive the somewhat reflective thoughts on my blog... Although at least the blog is probably accurately titled 'musings'...

I feel that growing a moustache is a small, physical manifestation of the pressure that men endure to conform, not only from the sources of authority but also from women.

Regarding the comments on gay men, I would simply say it would be very disappointing if gay men were excluded from the men's movement. I'm not gay, but it is pretty obvious the damage that homophobia inflicts on all men, not just gay men. This comment probably warrants further explanation (and will undoubtedly incite more debate) so I might leave that for the future.

All the best from Terra Australis, and remember not to take life too seriously,

Barnoz.

"I would also add that it would be a grave mistake for men to use the men's movement to denigrate or hate women across the board."

I agree, and so would most of the old hands who have been around this scene for a while. That seems to be the consensus among MRA philosophers. Those who are given to inflammatory anti-woman statements quickly find themselves pushed to the margins.

On my own blog, I focus very narrowly upon feminism as a movement and as an ideology. "Women" are secondary to the discussion. I avoid generalizing statements about them, I don't "vent" about their behavior, and I never use words like slut, bitch, skank, ho , etc. . .

However, i DO sometimes share news stories about individual females who do bad things. On such occasions I keep my own commentary to a minimum and simply let the facts speak for themselves so that readers may draw their own conclusions.

I have a secondary blog devoted exclusively to such stories, here:

http://counterfem2.blogspot.com

I view the "fair sex" the same way I view the entire human race: very, very coldly and objectively.

"Ripping feminism's guts out" means knocking the stuffing out of it intellectually, and discrediting it in the eyes of the world.

Re: Here We Grow Again - Another Blog!

You guys are a credit to the movement. Keep it up and dont get disheartened..

Anti female rants sometimes have a place, but only for shock value..

At the end of the day, we all want women to just know what the score is..

We are not better, or worse than them..

And whining and sympathy seeking only ever gets charity from folk, or the state..

We can do better..
