During the Family Preservation Rally in Washington, D.C. on 18 August, a couple of F4J activists from England were up to their customary tricks - this time on an American landmark, old Abe himself! It seems that one of the activists was none other than the celebrated Jolly Stanesby. After a time, these men were arrested and hauled away to the slammer, and the police tried to confiscate as many video memory cards as they could. Clearly, they didn't get 'em all! I wont be doing anything for the likes of O Connor and certainly, as many folk have pointed out to at least one of these gents who I know and respect very much personally, he is a fool to yet again get involved in these stunts that get him in trouble for the glory of O Connors media self glorification and money grabbing machine..

I am not taking away from the efforts of these guys, well done, but they are the ones who are going to be getting al the trouble, not O Conman who puts them up to these ineffective stunts..

We have had years of this, it acheives nothing..

Time to move on..

But, stay stuck in the mud and regard a few moments of media attention as a victory..

Then trot off to court again and beg...

These little events just pacify the mens movement into thinking something has been done..

Well, its completely ineffective..

Drex, as I see it, the trouble with this stunt is that it got almost ZERO play in the MSM. (Which was no accident, as we know!)

However, a few people saw it....and the image will stick in their brains. Then, a few more people saw it via YouTube. . . and the image will stick in their brains.

The only thing I'm sorry about is that MORE people didn't see it and get it stuck in their brains. Then it could have made a much bigger dent in the collective BRAIN.

Still. . . it made a dent. Which is better than none.

The average American has no idea who Matt O'Conner is. . . but the visual image of those two guys sitting in ole Abe's marbled lap will make an impression. Particularly with the sign about "Fathers of the Nation".
(The symbolism was well chosen - they knew what they were doing all right!

Somewhere down the road, that picture's gonna get on a book cover - and what a meme it will be!

But anyway.....as the MGTOW people would say, 'gotta shovel the gravel!'

And the pile is ENORMOUS, and.... it will not shovel itself!!

But I think those guys managed to make the pile a mite smaller!

It would be good if they did not rely on the same folk to get themselves arrested over and over again..

There are not enough people doing stuff like this, and there never will be..

One really has to know the history of f4j and Matt to realise why there is so much bad feeling in the UK about this one man egotrip..

While of course I like to see folk doing stuff they believe in, I like to preserve the lifespan and credibilty of activists, which stunts like this most certain do not..

From an inside, MRA view, it looks great, from the enemies point of view, it looks even better.. Gives them ammunition to hit back at us with..

Maybe the US will go through the same learning curve as the UK..

These men are isolated and picked off, held up and shafted by the state and O connor will disown them as he always does all his activists when he gets brown pants..

We need more long term strategies, such as, at the risk of repeating myself, strikes..

Being an Amerikanski, I am of course naive about f4j and MattO'c. Other than....I have gotten distant whiffs of the turbulent controversy - as much as the fluctuating winds will waft across the briney Atlantic, and across the vast, rugged expanse of the North American continent to my isolated west coast location.

So.... may I ask a favor, sir?

I mean, if you have a few keystrokes to spare....and since you appear to have some personal connection with it all...

What really happened with f4j, and with "the real f4j" and with Matt O' Connor, and with his evident unpopularity.....and ALL OF IT.

Well, its a long story.. The "Rot" Starts with. of course, the great David Chick Crane protest in london 2003 , which really made MATTS group's name.. even though, at the time of DC's protest, Matt took great pains to explain that DC was NOT an F4J member.. But, when the case got POSITIVE publicity, well, suddenly matt was talking like DC was always a F4J stalwart..

I will elaborate more about Matts notorious duplicity when I get the chance.. For the benefit of those who need to be made aware..

Suffice it to say, I have been on many demo's, hits etc with the old f4j crew (including one of the gents who did the Lincoln job) and they are (apart from that one fine but many would say misguided fellow) all out of action now, not only that, I would say you would be lucky to find 1% of them still even active on forums let alone on the streets..

The reason being?

They were mostly thoroughly pissed off with Matts behaviour generally and especially his attitude towards the activists..

I would not be so unkind as to lay all the blame at the feet of that one mere human being who for a while "unified" the fathers cause, because folk all act as adults responsible for themselves I think.. And, for sure, it was "His" group.. And I never really had reasons personally to expect more from matt than what he was able to do, although many others i believe expected far too much from him.. Things such as honesty and integrity etc,... I mean, thats really asking too much of a man you dont really know eh??

But, it peaked round about the time that this fool was waving petrol cans at solicitors.. (feb 2004) And went downhill from the point whereby he was ejected from the official group for noting and pointing out the hidden feminist/misandric nature of the group..

Others where more concerned about where the money went.. Not a matter I was that bothered about, for me it was always the fact that the group was not aiming past the limited horizons laid down by the reasonable expectations of standard equality based feminism..

All were very concerned about the leader turning his back on activists after they got in the slightest trouble with the law..

The most fairweather of friends.. Be aware!!
