In order to accommodate members who wish to discuss highly speculative and controversial conspiracy theories that may confuse or upset other members who are not susceptible or interested in such matters, this forum has been created. The type of theory that we are referring to here, requires a big stretch of the imagination and suspension of disbelief. A stretch some people are not capable of, or are not willing to make without convincing evidence. This forum can also be used to oppose such theories, but please keep it civil. I think it's fine to have a separate section for this type of discussion. In fact, I even voted for it. As someone who believes in conspiracies however, I did not find the "introduction" to be very flattering. For goodness' sake, you might as well have said "This is where the intellectual lepers and retards are hidden in the attic." It's like allowing us to have a separate room in a coffee house for our discussions and then labelling it "Moron Room" and making us where dunce hats. I didn't agree to this. I thought we we supposed to "keep it civil."

I'm a bit of a skeptic, does it show? :-) Let's review your highlights 1) highly speculative It is because in conspiracy theories most pieces of evidence are either circumstantial or unconfirmed 2) controversial Some people passionately believe the theories, while other strongly oppose them 3) requires a big stretch of the imagination and suspension of disbelief. I don't mean this in a negative way. What sets CTs apart from more every day theories is that they give unconventional explanations and not what a normal person would expect. They approach reality from an unusual angle that some people are more appreciative of than others. Maybe better: it requires a lot imagination and the ability to think outside the box 4) confuse or upset Some people are confused and upset by them. Isn't that true? The reason I'm making this point is that I'm trying to explain why we keep these topics apart: it's because they are special, in a good or bad way, depending on your point of view. 5) susceptible Hm, alright we can drop that -- Ok, I'll make it shorter and more to the point. Let's see. How about this:

AKUUS, I like your views. I thought, "WOW" (positive) when you challenged the post on Paris Hilton and her grandfather's choice of giving to charities. I was not for your view completely as I think it very important to share your wealth. And even if it is the wealth of knowledge. It is just something that is right to do. MR Scrooge at Christmas was an important lesson for all of mankind. ![]() The people made this family rich. Not the family itself. Without the people this family would be nothing. A retailer doesn't make money without customers. And a retailers does not make money without valuing his/her customers. It is a catch that only those who are successful know. But I should have said something on that post yet I gave respect for you saying that many wealthy families are hard workers and that this has been passed down. Wealth for many is impossible. The most those who seem on the outside to be wealthy are only just and simply rich. And being rich can be gone in a day and turned to poverty. I thought you might have understood what really happened and why. The Jews, the Mafia families of any country and the Chinese and so many other groups combined in their effort to create wealth for their many families. You forget to look at the Patriarchy properly. These are just pure and simple folk who somehow got it together. There was never a goal to take over the world let alone any country. How many countries have been in fear of a race? How many conspiracies are there? In Australia the Asians were targeted to take over the country. And yet it was never a conspiracy. It was pure and simply families who wanted a better life. And yet these conspiracies made the Unions rich who fed off peoples fear. In the end these families pull out because they can't make money and the workers suffer and in the past that suffering meant starving. And for fathers and husbands in these very troubling times many killed themselves because they felt so ashamed and strongly felt their role as a provider. I lived through one of these times. I now what went down. You should come to New Zealand and see what is happening in the South Island for these traditional men as farmers. They are not feminised and yet man after man after man is killing himself. Is this the conspiracy of the global meat market? We must stop putting fear into people. Some of you on this site can handle a bit of chit chat over the ideas of conspiracy and yet it means nothing to you but chit chat. But others will feed into this. Conspiracy is the biggest weapon to take power by feeding fear into people. It is conspiracists that need to start looking elsewhere for answers. Even the economic Hitmen know nothing of your conspiracies. And yet they are the real killers to take control.

Bola wrote: I'm a bit of a skeptic, does it show? :-) A wee bit! LOL. Does this mean we now need a skeptics' forum? The intro could go something like this: "This section is for the highly cynical and those who lack imagination on controversial issues. Of course, that isn't meant in a negative way..." -I'm just teasing, Bola. Ok, I'll make it shorter and more to the point. Let's see. How about this: In order to accommodate members who wish to discuss certain controversial conspiracy theories that may confuse or upset other members, this forum has been created. This forum can also be used to oppose such theories, but please keep it civil. That is short and sweet, though I'm sure you don't mean to limit the types of conspiracy theories discussed here by saying "certain controversial." I'm sure you really mean ALL CT's. Anyways, thanks for your support!!

Julie, thanks for your great post. You've definitely put a lot of good stuff to discuss on the table! I was not for your view completely as I think it very important to share your wealth. Philanthropy is definitely ok as it is someone choosing to do what he wants to with his own money. However excessive taxation (i.e. redistribution of wealth, i.e. communism) is evil. It's legalized plunder. Grandpa Hilton had every right to give away his money to strangers instead of his family. It's his money. I just thought it was wrong to give more to strangers than his family. If the percentages had been reversed, I wouldn't have complained. Then again it's his $. Wealth for many is impossible. Even Jesus said, "For ye have the poor always with you". Equality doesn't exist in nature. The Jews, the Mafia families of any country and the Chinese and so many other groups combined in their effort to create wealth for their many families. You forget to look at the Patriarchy properly. Mafias are definitely conspiracies on a medium level. I'm not sure what you mean by "look(ing) at the Patriarchy properly." We must stop putting fear into people. And yet they are the real killers to take control.[/quote] Julie, I definitely agree that fear is weapon. In fact, I think that is what 9/11 and the Global War on Terror (GWOT) is all about: governments controlling people through fear by using an imaginary or inflated GWOT that they created and/or manipulated. I do not have any fear that some terrorist is going to kill me hear on American soil. I do, however, fear what my government is doing and will do to me and my country in the name of protecting me. It is the Hegelian Dialectic: Thesis + Antithesis = Synthesis. The powers that be get people to accept, even beg for, things they normally would not by surrounding them with fear and "worse" options. Hitler got Germans to accept National Socialism by making them more afraid of Communists who were said to have burned the Reichstag, which was really burned by Hitler's soldiers. Some of my fellow Americans are so afraid of terrorists, they actually support the GWOT, the Patriot Act, curtailments of our liberties, and even presidential candidate John McCain who wants us in Iraq for 100 years!!!
