I disagree. I do not believe he really believed in what he was doing. I think he knew very well that it's all bullshit. Come on, you're the DA and you're telling me, after you saw all the "evidence", that you still believed your Crystal wasn't full of shite? Not to mention his hate mongering - statements such as "If they're innocent, why are they hiring lawyers"? and stuff like that. All this shows to me that Nifong knew the deal and wasn't just misguided by chivalrous urges - he just felt lives of three young men are small price to pay in order to be elected.

The really scary part is... when you think about it - how many men don't make it, because they don't have the resources these three rich kids had. How many other innocent men rot as we speak, because they didn't have the resources to stop their Nifolgs who wanted to convict them by all means necessary... Creepy.
