I am thinking of doing an MRA map of the world. In it, there would be the works of MRA's divided by country. Articles and Videos. I already know that there are MRA's in the US, Britain, Austrailia, Sweden, Germany, Canada, Whales and New Zealand. I even found an all Italian language MRA channel on youtube and there must be more countries I am missing at this writing.

How about a virtual Globe or even a flat map of the planet that users could click on their country of choice and be given links to blogs and websites and video/article directories from that country.

Now, is that a good idea, or do I just need more sleep?

I have seen such "maps" that identify the location of UK fathers activists..

Going back, well, maybe 4 or so years ago, I think some site or other did have such a map..

There were a lot of flags planted..

Update ladies and gentlemen. Ze Master Plan is going to happen, and it is going to be done right. It is going to take time, and of course money, because I am not going to settle for anything less than eye popping spectacular.

Here is the brief synopsis I put to my developer.

There are various men's rights and father's rights organizations in several countries, and a growing number of activists and service providers like attorneys who specialize in assisting men in family courts, There are also youtube channels, blogs, websites and free lance writers like myself that focus on men's issues.

I am guessing this would involve at least 12-15 countries, maybe more, but I will have to develop and exhaustive list to start things out.

What I want to do is have an interactive resource directory with an adminstrative back end and database.

The concept is of a 3-d turning globe of the planet with countries outlined on the continents much as they would be on a standard globe. I would be rotating and would display countries with no MRM activities in a gray shade, and countries that have MRM activity in primary, vibrant colors.

Users would be provided controls to stop, reverse and forward the turning of the globe. They will also be able to click on thier country of choice to open a flat map of that country that contained a directory of the organizations and individuals listed. Clicking on those items would open an info page with descriptions, links, phone numbers and other information provided by those listed.

Users would also have access to an form to list whatever it is they do and included it in the globe with admin approval.

My guess is that this can be done in flash, but I am not sure.

That is the basics for starters people. So here I am again, as always, looking for your best ideas to weave into this concept. I have to have it all down on paper before the first line of code is written.

There has got to be a cheap and easy way to do it. I can't imagine that there isn't some software package out there that can do the job. But, maybe I am wrong.

I have seen this before in forums. Here is a world map, klick where you are. This has been done before. It wouldn´t surprise me if the forum software has a feature that can be downloaded (or has to be purchased)...
