All following works have been by Erin Pizzey, founder of the first U.K. women's shelter, and have been eye openers for me.

Prone to Violence
She describes her experience starting a Women's Refuge, where she learned that many women who are victims of abuse by men are actually addicted to violence and need as much help recovering from violent behavior as those men. I'm impressed with Erin's approach to helping women and children without resorting to blaming men or women for the problem. She understands it to be a much more complex issues than either today's MRAs or feminists want to believe, or are capable of believing.

Working with Violent Women
Erin describes what she calls the "family terrorist." Interestingly, she acknowledges that men are just as capable of terrorizing their families, but describes a female terrorist.

The Planned Destruction of the Family
Erin expresses her disappointment in the women's movement, explaining that harboring animosity toward men and the destruction of the heterosexual family were never goals she shared.

Erin is a unique woman among women, and her writing has reassured me that there are still people out there who want to see all of humanity become a functional family.
