Re: Withholding sex...
I wonder than what rape is considered on the part of men.In the case of Lysistrata (very worth reading, but the way), all Greek women went on strike so the men had no alternative. In the story, the women discuss what to do if the husbands force themselves on the wives, and the answer was that they should just not react, the idea being that sex with an unresponsive wife still won't be satisfying enough for the husbands.
If women punish men by preventing them to have sex with them is rape punishment by men for that rejection? ( Controversial subject I know.)“The state calls its own violence law, but that of the individual crime.”- Johann Kaspar Schmidt ( AKA Max Stirner.)

Re: Withholding sex...
Interesting subject from a psychological standpoint. It is conceivable that a serial rapist's signature (the act unique to the rapist that symbolizes the psychological need the crime fulfills) may indeed be to "punish women" (or a particular woman, again and again, symbolically) for perceived or real rejection, sexual or otherwise.
I suppose this could also be so for the singular rapist who rapes an intimate partner or ex-lover or even a stranger- as a retaliatory act based on her perceived or real rejection of him.

It is noticeable that whenever a rapist is caught (a real rapist that is ) he is usually found to have committed many, many rapes. So for every hundred rapes one might have only two men responsible. It is conceivable that a serial rapist's signature .....
But even with just 10 rapes, all men are considered responsible.

Re: Withholding sex...
Not all rape is perpetrated by serial rapists. Not all men who rape do it for the same reasons.
My ex tried to rape me and I do not think he was a serial rapist...however, I suppose it would not be a total shock if I found out he had terrorized previous girlfriends in the same manner. He used many different forms of intimidation (including violence) to control me. Nevermind that I was compliant in nearly every way during our marriage- including being faithful, but my filing for divorce was, in his mind, the ultimate betrayal. He was unstable before that, and completely insane after.
Not a serial rapist, though, to my knowledge.Last edited by Incognito; 16th-November-2009 at 01:42 AM.

Re: Withholding sex...
He had his 'quirks' (fear and intimidation always excited him sexually) before the drugs and alcohol but the chemicals just made things worse.
I realize drugs and alcohol affect people's judgment (I know that from personal experience, not just observation)...but, there are things an addict/alcoholic won't do. No amount of any substance ever turned me into a rapist or murderer. I did things I might not have done otherwise, but not like that.....hurting people in any way (sober or not) would not bring me pleasure.
The disturbing thing about my ex....he got off on inflicting pain and fear....and he was that way stone cold sober.

Re: Withholding sex...
yeah I know some people like that
but IMO, being a tweaker is the worst fucking thing anyone could get into
hell, I dont have a problem with drunks, weedheads, even cokeheads, crackheads and junkies aren on the same level of general shitbagginess that tweakers as a rule indulge in.
no matter how depraved a crackhead or a junkie is, they are still alterboys compared to fuckin tweakers.
I would say shoot all the tweakers in the head, but since hoebama's been president, bullets are too expensive.

Re: Withholding sex...
well, Im one up on you ya god damn dirty ass hippie
Im still a drunk and a weed head
notice I didnt say alchoholic, cuz alchoholics are quitters that go to meetings
and I've been a cokehead and a junkie
but speed is something I would never consider doing
I mean, I would probably rather eat out a clydesdale mare on her period than to fuckin smoke, snort or shoot any meth or crack
I just have a thing about that shit, never did it, never had any use for anyone who did
probably has to do with the fact I was around it alot as a kid

Re: Withholding sex...
Dude you definitely one-upped me on 'comments not to be read while consuming food or beverage!'

I consider myself fortunate....I spent three years addicted to speed. It could easily have been a lifetime. I've seen what that shit does to people, and I know what it did to me in just that relatively short period of time.
I've been addicted to weed much longer (14 years).....probably explains why my brain is damaged- I'm just glad I don't know how much.
And alcohol.....my addiction to that lasted two years. That was long enough. My last day drinking was waking up with a large and medically serious burn and having no idea how it got there.
Yes I've used cocaine/crack, LSD, shrooms, ecstasy...the only drugs I cannot tolerate are opiates. They make me sick. Good thing, too...or who knows, I may have ended up hooked on them.
I am lucky, I suppose. I didn't go to treatment (rehab) I managed to quit all of it on my own.
I can't condemn one set of drug users over another. I've known people who've beat the crap out of each other over a bowl of weed. It's not the drug entirely it's the person.....whatever darkness is inside has an easier outlet when a person is high or when they are coming down.
None of us are saints.

Re: Withholding sex...
I been smokin weed since I was 11 and I'll quit when I die
I liked the opiates, but my heroin use only lasted about a year
never got hooked real bad, never spent more than $20 in a day on it
I disagree over not being able to condemn one group of users over another
generally weed heads dont get as violent as other users
and generally tweakers and crackheads are the most depraved of the whole bunch
