I wrote up quickly an entry for 'antifeminist' on wiki today. I request that any fellows (or ladies, of course) with experience in 'wiki'ing apply their knoweldge by editing it accordingly.
Wiki is not my forte` so do not expect anything too great LOL

Some ultra-mangina added a tag claiming the article is non-neutral.

Check out the loser's personal page, bragging that he is pro-abortion and identifying himself as a feminist.



Oh dear. Is there any hope for men when we have scum like him allegedly amongst our gender? Vermin like him will be up against the wall straight after feminists when the revolution comes :shock: :-D

(UK advert/propaganda alert) Now Hotpoint have just gone and got themselves into that little black book. Another ad featuring a man as a simpering gimp fawning over a brand new cooker, whilst the all knowing woman breezes into the kitchen to bombard her mint flavoured hot chocolate drink with microwaves, just staring down at the man as if he were a child.

And the hits just keep on coming.

It's interesting how the articles neutrality is being disputed, and yet the article on Feminism (which glorifies it to no extent) is welcome and celebrated.

It seems even Encyclopedias cannot escape Double Standards, hmm?

How odd you mention that point, on the 'antifeminism' talk page, i asked that very same question!

I've just made some extensive updates to the Wiki page, adding material, correcting some citations, and rewording things to allay biased critics.

I think the link to Stand Your Groud should be removed as Dr. Evil and the regulars there have repeatedly demonstrated their hesitancy to refer to themselves as antifeminists.

Let it be forever known and understood that I, no2fembots, a regular posting member of SYG, am now, and have always been, an ardent ANTI-FEMINIST.

I truly and sincerely believe that one must, in times of trouble and strife, get off the fence and choose a side. One cannot fight any good fight from the sidelines, or straddling the semantic fence. Words have power! So do labels!

BTW, HerbM, there are so many anti-feminists on SYG that I wonder where you get the idea that SYGer's are 'soft' on this form of identification?

I'm a quasi-regular poster at SYG (I get a crafty word in edgewise now
and again) and....I can see NO lack of proudly self-acknowledged anti-
feminists walking the streets in that 'thar town, nossir!

I have no problem with the word "anti-feminist", which simply means
"against feminism." Simple enough, you would say, but no.....

The feminists have a great head start upon us, in defining that word to
mean "anti-female" or "anti-woman".

And for that reason, I have coined the term "counter-feminist", and have
been non-chalantly prosyletizing for its adoption by anybody who is
amenable to my missionary efforts. I have also been pounding the drum
unobtrusively for a related thing which I call the Counterfeminist
People's Movement.

Anyway. The idea behind "counter-feminist" is to offer an alternative to
"anti-feminist" -- one which means virtually the same thing, but yields up
no easy grist to the semantic spin-mills.

Counter-feminist means WHAT, exactly?

"Counter-female"?

"Counter-woman"?

Nope. Sorry Charlie. It doesn't stick. It offers no traction.

It repels, right handily, the imputation of misogyny.

So, if they wanna saddle ME with that particular onus, they must work
considerably harder to do so.

What i was saying is that i've got around to also trying to reword the term 'antifeminist'. People equate 'feminism' with 'women', a stereotype, of sorts. When they hear "I'm an anti-feminist." they instinctively assume you're against not just feminism - but women too. Many, like I too was once guilty of, believe quite truly that feminism is for equality, and hence if you're against feminism - you're against equality for women.

Wrong!

So with this in mind, i coined my own term:

Anti-Misandry

For most people, this will initiate a quiet tick-over of curiosity. This will give you the option to explain the position and how it is also beneficial for children & women, not just men.
For those who know the term - or a rough idea - they may well think "anti-male, ahh - such as family courts, the media..etc." rather than "hmm he hates women, eh! tsk - shame on you!", both of which are true. Again, it offers the opportunity to explain further.

I'm quite content with the term antifeminist- and if anyone questions such a term, then I am more than happy to explain it to them 8)

By all rights, i too am happy with the term Anti-Feminist. However, there's no denying, feminist lies have created an appeal in people - no matter how misguided it may be.

"intellectual whore" should have been an eye opener.

It's always women that brag about their efforts at "degrees", and bragging about maths should have re-assigned it to Harvard for some reality.

Also, under recommendation, I added 'antimisandry' at urban dictionary.
