Re: Why most great scientists/innovators are men?

I thought interracial breeding just meant the offspring was less likely to inherit genetic diseases etc. In the wake of genetic engineering it's something that simply won't be needed to progress human evolution in the future and an indeginous population is usually varied enough to stop inbreeding from happening anyways.

Women of the same race/culture imo.
Not sure what you're saying. Are you arguing for 'racial purity'?" - just as western economists/politicians argue for protectionism?
How many products did you buy in the last year that were made in China?
If you bought a "Dell" (all-American) computer the chips were probably made in Thailand. The motherboard and its dependent circuits were collected together in Taiwan and the final product was assembled in India and shipped back to the US, where "Dell" makes a big profit.
You thought you were buying an 'American' computer!! Ha Ha.

So how is finding a reliable wife any different than buying a computer? The same forces are still at work.
Are you willing to wave the "Stars and Stripes" for the privilege of paying over the odds for an inferior product?

The computer might have a 5-year warranty. The wife? Forget it.
Whatever I say, write, think, do or even imagine.... some woman somewhere made me do it.
It's her responsibility and not mine.

Yan Yan, Africans have the highest genetic diversity in the world and Jews one of the smallest - and everything that applies to plants and animals applies to humans(you sound like those people who ramble that evolution stopped with humans and we are all equal from that point on). Also, people don't care about investing resources in their communities if they are genotypically diverse(e.g. Putnam's diversity study). Your misuse of survival of the fittest, by the way, is funny - and pretty frequent.

Anyway, as I said, I'm done with this thread and so that I won't answer anymore, I won't even bother reading it considering there's nothing new being posted in it and its lacking in quantitative information, especially since it is fairly obvious that emotional investment due to prior decisions makes people deny reality, which makes arguing pointless.

Imo, I wasn't arguing for anything I was merely stating that the mixing of races and cultures isn't neccessary to advance human evolution on a more beneficial path, however considering you bought the matter up, yes after living 20 years in a "multicultural" politically correct England I can safely say I'd prefer a homogenous society 1000x over a multicultural one, chinese, thai, taiwanese and indian people don't need to be living in my country for us to reap the benefits of such production etc. You don't have to be a multicultural society to trade with other countries. Look at Japan for instance.

If I value a white woman more than other ethnicities then obviously I'd have to be willing to pay more and risk more to get one.

Re: Why most great scientists/innovators are men?

Objective of course Tovarich! But the subject is messy. You will sometimes find women being more objective than men, and men being more subjective than women. We can only look behind what they say and try to discover what they mean to say
I think everyone got me wrong and thinks that I said debate doesn't need logic or objectivity.I was speaking of a particular context.
What I am trying to say is that while dealing with something like culture we need to be more flexible. There are situations where we need to be strictly objective and where we need to be more flexible

The particular reason I asked her to be subjective was when she accused me of using 'ad populum' in defending Steve Jobs being a great Innovator. Please remember that we still have not come up with an idea of what it means to be a 'perfect' human being.
Americans always speak very highly of their founding fathers/first settlers, but actually they were murderers who wiped out entire native population of a continent, held Black people as their slaves.

Adolf Hitler tried to do the same things[at least it was his own land/country][I know he's Austrian],
Ethnic cleansing and conquering foreign lands for the interest of his own people.
but he's judged and viewed in a totally different way, why?
Why Andrew Jackson or Washington is held high and Hitler low.
If Hitler did the same things on 17th or 18th century would he be judged in the same way
    I don't think so.
Because our standards are constantly changing,we judge people using criteria that constantly changes.
Asking your wife to make a cup of coffee is oppression now,was it in 1950?even opening a door is oppression now!

I'll give another example,I visited both Hong Kong and Malaysia with my girlfriend, for her the criteria to choose what she's wearing is fashion and climate to a small extent. At Hong Kong there was not much restriction on what you wear, she used modern dresses and found no problem with that, but during Malaysia trip she began receiving lot of negative attention due to the way she dressed.I had to convince her that the people are more conservative and religious here and need to take that into account.

remember that the next time you place an order for Chinese food or Indian food - the Chinese and Indians just call it FOOD. The real question is, "how does it taste to you?"
Both Indian and Chinese cuisine is excellent. As you said how it tastes does matter, that was my only criteria the first time I had some spicy curry for dinner. It tasted much better than chinese, but I spent one entire day position in my bedroom after my first encounter with the tasty dish,it upset my stomach in a manner Chinese food did not. After that I realized that health/safety comes first and taste is only second to that, now I am eating no spicy food, they are less tasty but at least they don't give me trouble!

It's really amazing when people who are least pragmatic and realistic accuse others of being out of reality.

I will try to stick with the main topic and provide more information

I have an interesting article about why there are more male scientist and geniuses than women.I'll quote important points.

one of the main reasons why there are not more female science professors or chief executives or Cabinet ministers is that, on average, men are more intelligent than women. Nor do the shocks to the noisy advocates of equal opportunities stop there, I'm afraid

For not only is the average man more intelligent than the average woman but also a clear and rather startling imbalance emerges between the sexes at the high levels of intelligence that the most demanding jobs require.

For instance, at the near-genius level (an IQ of 145), brilliant men outnumber brilliant women by 8 to one. That's statistics, not sexism.

In this context, Professor Greenfield's indignation that only one in ten science professors is female doesn't seem all that bad. It also goes some way to explaining why, in almost 110 years of Nobel Prize history, only two women have ever won the Prize for physics, only four have won the Prize for chemistry and why no women at all have ever won the coveted Fields Medal for mathematics in eight decades of trying.
Ever since the Frenchman Alfred Binet devised the first intelligence test in 1905, study after study has confirmed the same result. When it comes to IQ, men and women - at least once they've gained adulthood - simply are not equal.
As the hunter part of a hunter-gatherer society, men were faced with complex, life-threatening problems that needed solving on a daily basis. For example, how to kill that elusive deer?

The hunters that used all their mental capabilities to come up with the answers, successfully killing animals day after day, were clearly the most intelligent.
The demands of hunting - devising tactics and strategies, anticipating likely outcomes - favoured the development of reasoning, together with mathematical and spatial abilities, which is why, thousands of years later, men continue to be overrepresented in fields such as maths and physics.

    Wow!
I had to read it more than once to understand what you meant, nice selection of words Druid. You'll need some kind of superior intellectual capabilities to read it once and comprehend it completely, which of course I dont possess! Lol

BTW were you referring to someone or some particular post when you said that?
