An interesting comment from Marc Rudov, over at MND.

Angry Harry has already expressed his opinion on this. (Not happy). So has my friend Amfortas .( Ditto).

What do you think?

There are many in the MRM, all over the internet, who might be dismayed by Marc's hard stance.

I am known for who I am by a few in the MRM. I exchange emails and talk to folk as me. (Oddly, many still email me as 'Percy'.) I know a few others for who they are too.

But I respect people's confidentiality regarding their identity, and their decision to use a 'nom de net'.

And your view is....... ?

The enemies of the men's rights movement (feminists, government employees, etc) monitor the goings-on in the online MRA community - hence we all have to be careful with regard to how much personal information we reveal about ourselves.

Reality:
If we use our real names, we leave ourselves exposed. Future employees can easily misconstrue our words, and with feminist lies about our beliefs, that's a very realistic possibility.
We recognise that feminist people work in various departments of the government, and our names may be blacklisted by groups or just individuals. For example, in England, a man on the Council waiting list already faces a battle (vs the seemingly endless queue of single mothers with children of all races & ages being dragged behind them). If his local council has a feminist in a position of power over his ability/right to be housed, there stands a realistic possibility that she could abuse their power by pushing his name back to the bottom of the queue. We KNOW feminists WILL and DO abuse power, just look at Harriet Harman for a demonstration.
Feminism is supported and condoned by the governments throughout the Western World. MRA's are seen as politically incorrect, even when asking for fairness is just a given...

Ideal:
It would be awesome to be as free as feminists to use real identities, and if anon MRA's knew they could speak with freedom and without political repercussions, they would!

It's also well worth adding, it's all very well for Mr. Rudov to speak down at average Joe's using anonymity to protect themselves...

He has already long ago established himself, just as Glenn Sacks has.

Most folks are not in that position and they could potentially jeoporize their career, or other important elements of their life. I'm sure if we had Mr Ruduv's money and experience behind us, we could lift the anonymity sheild - but we don't.

Indeed! And I might add that he makes HIS LIVING (or at least a good part of it) on the gender wars... many of us DO NOT.

Although I have a great amount of respect for Mr. Rudov, this attack at MRA's is alike to a fully-trained aeroplane polite mocking the passengers for not knowing how to fly an aeroplane, and specifically targetting anyone showing a fear of being airborn...

In fact, my respect for Mr. Rudov has just dropped considerably.

What of those seeking child access?

Tsk tsk, Mr. Rudov.

My view is that, as I have no problem standing behind what I believe, I shouldn't have a problem identifying myself with those beliefs.....which is why I decided to use my real name and a picture of myself on my blog and as my avatar.

That said, I think it is wrong and unfair of Marc Rudov to make such an assertion. I happen to live in highly conservative area where my views are only slightly more radical than those of many around me. I don't worry about my job or what my friends or family would think so my main concern is the faceless, nameless hordes of the internet, who I'm not overly worried about. And, let's face it, as a woman, while I get met with some scorn and disgust, the level of response to my views is far varied than what it is against men who state the exact same things.

Don't forget that he recently mocked members of Anti Misandry in an edition of his e-mail newsletter:

WTF....Marc Rudov is referring to us? As in Marc Rudov reads stuff on this board? Sounds like a good think to me. Who cares if he does like us or not if we at least reach people with the stuff we are writing here....to me its good news....

I think a MRA is either an activist or an advocate or both.

I don't know how you can be either as an anonymous.

But if being an advocate is commenting on sites then sure anonymous is all good.

The ONLY reason I changed my mind on using my real name, came when I divorced... I got sick to death of my ex's so-called mother continually following everyword I said on here and getting on my ex's case to nag, nag, nag, nag me to fuckin' death about it. So by using an alias, I'm saving ME a lot of ear-ache. If that isn't good enough for Mr. Rudov, well oh dear. I won't be losing sleep over it.
