I have a woman asking me this very question on another website, and I was going to reply, but I thought I'd let you guys throw some ammo my way first.
She is suggesting that I am sexist for saying that marriage is riskier for men than it is for women, so what should I tell her?

I think the reply from a guy called Gabriel in the link beow is spot on, top rate, absolutely ace and sums it all up in full about the reasons why men are pissing off women by refusing to marry them:

Nothing makes the point better than the Chinese character for marriage which is made up of certain figures (or a couple of characters all in one). The female figure is free and the male figure is in a small box/cage below the women.

This conflict is as old as they get, but we still insist to reinvent the wheel, or going over the trails of better men than oursleves and still talk of trail blazing. Read the ideas of other greats and you will then move the cause on.

I would simply ask her to give him a good reason why he should marry...

But - is there any reason to get married as a young man? Is there any advantage, even a very little advantage for a man to get married?

To be married as man means nothing, except obligations to pay...especially in case of divorce...and the majority of marriages are ending in divorce.

Why should he marry? For what?
