Well I did buy gifts in the beginning, but they'd always get broken by her kids or damaged in someway. I saw no point in buying 'tokens of love' that were not cherished by her. Most people put things up out of the way of children, so they can't be damaged... Typically, no she didn't - but naturally birthdays, xmas and so forth yes she would buy gifts.
On her birthday I bought a bathroom set in a dolphin theme (a favourite of hers). Naturally, because it wasn't "just" hers, she complained. She liked it, she thought it looked nice, but it wasn't for her alone, thus it was not good enough.

You know what I think is really sad? I think that women often place far too much focus and attention on material things ...and tend not to see the gifts that are far more significant...those things being the things that men do...the way they care for the needs of the family, the way they protect, the way they seek to ease the stress and burdens of their wives, the way they bring smiles to the faces of their children...the way they sacrifice for the benefit and security of the family as a whole. Why can't women see these things? Why are roses, rings, cards, anniversaries, etc. be the ways that some women measure love? Can they not see the forest for the trees? I think you are right, Marx...often times women do not see the mistakes they've made or the harm they've caused, or the indifference they've shown, until it's too late to undo the damage.

I used to buy a woman I was in love with loads of things. She never gave me anything back in return, and then fucked off with another guy who didn't even buy her gifts for her birthday.

Never again.

My brothers wife is an old friend of mine. I wasn't very happy that she married my younger brother. But he is happy and she is a good wife. She choose the right man. He has his own business. My husband actually trained him. He should have had a multi million dollar business but he was stubborn (didn't talk to my grandfather for over a year) and what he was to inherit was given to other young men.

My other brother, well, of course he has a trophy wife. He has massive contracts in Aussie with his business.

I will just take the guilty verdict for being a whore and a bitch. It is also in my ancestry too.

She likes children and being a mother, she's not career-obsessed. She's not the best cook ever but that doesn't bother me. She's got her faults and I've got mine but we manage to be tolerant of each other. And she actually likes the fact that men and women are different ... !
