Re: What adults can learn from kids
unfortunately most of the best things about being a child can't be utilised by adults.. evading responsibility, getting a place on the lifeboats and generally being regarded as precious and worthy of everyone's support and energies.. mind you, adult females do have some success in those areas..

Re: What adults can learn from kids
The child-like qualities of trust and curiosity can be quite appealing into adulthood, but this young women starts her talk by showing a distinct lack of discernment between those and Childish, which is usually typified by tantrums and stupidity.
Some young people ought to be seen but not heard.

Re: What adults can learn from kids
Clearly a very intelligent child, but I think she's confused the term 'childish' as simply referring to an age barrier & a form of discrimination regardless of how intelligent any points may be when in fact, as Percy pointed out, it's usually used to refer to certain bad behaviours that most children grow out of as they mature into adults, such as tempers and egotistic mindsets.
It's almost as if she's mixing child-state with disability.►My blog / Your Blog

Husband : "How about the ones like mine?"
Wife : "Those they gave away."
Husband : "I had a dream too...I dreamt they were auctioning off pussy. The pretty ones went for a thousand dollars, and the little tight ones went for two thousand."
Wife : "And how much for the ones like mine?"
Husband : "That's where they held the auction."

I only watched about 30 seconds of it before I realised the relevance of it... None..

Indeed, I can't say I picked up any relevance having watched it in full.
While the kid is undoubtedly intelligent, she is a minority of children her age, male or female.►My blog / Your Blog

Re: What adults can learn from kids
I thing I've learned from working with children is that they don't respect adults who talk about their feelings all the time, in fact they see such adults as weak.
Interesting, eh?
That's something we could all learn from kids.

One precocious freak and now we need to change everything to make way for one person?
I've long thought that children grow up in a totalitarian regime until they're responsibly enough to live in a democracy. As GWW said last week on AVfM radio, empathy isn't learned from people being considerate towards you (as it is for girls) but from being denied getting your own way (as it is for boys), because through that pain and frustration we have to learn to understand and deal with our emotions. Learning to deal with our own emotions allows us to learn to understand and deal with other people's emotions.
Sadly Adora here doesn't seem to realise that she's just an interesting amusement for these adults. Being intelligent and confident from a well supported family is a lot easier than the same as an adult. I forecast that like many child prodigies before her (John Stuart Mill, Schopenhauer, Mozart and Nietzche) she faces a long battle with depression and anxiety in her early adulthood.

Generally parents are the ones who do the teaching; but there are certain parts of life that can be only taught by having a child.

I think a kid can teach me to shoot milk out of my nose. Well, the bible does say something about having child-like faith, if you're a believer. (general you)
