A week of 'awareness' about domestic abuse.
I've noticed there's been a week of domestic abuse 'awareness' across many UK cities.
I removed my city with a generic 'City' as the actual location is unimportant. I also left out a paragraph about a recent local DV incident which I dovetailed into my response to highlight female violence.
Local rag output........
Agencies raise awareness of abuse
City probation service is taking part in a campaign to raise awareness of domestic violence through its work with both victims and perpetrators.
The Domestic Abuse Awareness Week, which runs from Monday to November 25 will see a number of organisations take part in the campaign, this year being run locally by the City Safeguarding Children Board and the City Domestic Abuse partnership.
Kathy Neeson, a senior probation officer in City, said: "Probation runs a domestic violence perpetrator programme, called the Integrated Domestic Abuse Programme (IDAP) for offenders who have abused women partners.
"The aim of the course is to help stop and reduce further offending by this group of men. Staff who deliver this programme will be on a domestic abuse stand at City information throughout next week and will be available to talk to shoppers to give them information about what their work involves."
Kathy said the programme combines working with victims of domestic abuse along with other agencies such as the police, employers, the children and young persons service and City Domestic Abuse Service (CDAS) to manage the risk offenders can pose to them and their children.
She said: "The programme aims to reduce the risk of violent and abusive behaviour towards women in relationships by helping their partners change their attitudes and behaviour.
"It seeks to increase the offender's ability to respond in a non abusive way, change their beliefs and empathise with their victims.
"In giving offenders a greater sense of responsibility for their violence we can help them learn how to identify high risk situations and manage these better."
Here's my response to this local newspaper, who depressingly framed it in rigid stereotypical terms (man perpetrator, woman victim!):
Predictably, this "awareness" exercise is built upon the discriminatory premise that only men are violent towards women. Even the British Crime Survey, with it's faulty study methodology, consistently shows more than 42% of domestic violence victims to be men. More than 40% of domestic violence victims are male, report reveals | Society | The Observer And when you see how the media routinely portrays female violence against men as comedy and acceptable behaviour, it's understandable why men are extremely reluctant to report being attacked by a female. And given the institutional bias of the police against men, who've adopted the U.S. 'primary aggressor' model, where the the man ends up being arrested in a domestic dispute regardless of the FACTS. In fact, if a male victim rings the police he's more likely to be laughed at or arrested himself, rather than the violent woman.
A global collation of empirical data clearly demonstrates women being more violent and initiating that violence at 3 times the rate of men: http://csulb.edu/~mfiebert/assault.htm
An annotated bibliography (the largest in the world) examined 282 scholarly investigations: 218 empirical studies and 64 reviews and/or analyses, which demonstrate that women are as physically aggressive, or more aggressive, than men in their relationships with their spouses or male partners. The aggregate sample size in the reviewed studies exceeds 369,800. Why are women lumped in with children when domestic abuse is discussed, because statistics from the government and police shows that women are the far greater physical abusers and murderers of children (predominantly boys). http://www.nspcc.org.uk/Inform/resea...F_wdf84181.pdf It's a bit like putting the foxes in the chicken coup! Here's a short parliamentary debate where feminist MPs and the NSPCC are caught out attempting to cover up the real extent of women physically abusing children. House of Commons Hansard Debates for 2 Mar 2006 (pt 18)
And the greatest rate of domestic violence per capita occurs with lesbian couples. Fact Sheet: Lesbian Partner Violence This is never mentioned by feminists because there's no men to blame and it highlights women's propensity for violence. Women also commit the most elder abuse. 'Ladette' culture has seen violence in girls under 18 rocket by 50% from 2004 to Jan 2009 (The Ministry of Justice). Scourge of the ladette thugs: Rising tide of violent crime committed by young women | Mail Online Girls perpetrate much more violence in teen dating than boys Who Perpetrates Teen Dating Violence?
Erin Pizzey, the founder of the first UK refuge stated that women arriving at the refuges were as violent as their spouses, and many were victims of other women in lesbian relationships. She also said many of these women were physically abusing their children and that there was a code of silence by social workers appointed to the refuges. Ideology was paramount before the welfare of children. When she wrote a book about women's violence (Prone to Violence) she was ousted by the radical feminists who had hijacked the shelter movement, which she intended to help both men and women. Ironically, feminists began to threaten her and then terrorized her, making bomb threats at her book signings. In fear of her life she moved to New Zealand.
So, to summarize: women inflict the greater percentage of domestic violence within the wider community. These are facts grounded in empirical and peer-reviewed evidence, rather than emotionalism, agitprop and hysteria. Why the one-sided media presentation one might ask? Unfortunately feminist ideology has infiltrated many agencies associated with domestic abuse, peddling misinformation and purposely distorting statistics in order to absolve violent women and demonize men - which forms it's intricate web of deception. And all the political parties are terrified of upsetting the influential feminist lobby and precious female vote by discussing men as DV victims, and political correctness (cultural Marxism) ensures the petrified sheeple don't speak upon the truth either. These people are ideological propagandists, the truth is an anathema to them.
Also, many agencies involved in, or affiliated with domestic violence initiatives receive funding in proportion to the amount of victims 'claimed.' So it's not solely about demonizing men and obscuring them as victims, but the more exaggerated the figures, the larger amount of funding they receive. It's a bloated gravy train from agency ideologues to solicitors, quangos, police, social workers, psychiatrists, probation officers, charities and judges. Huge numbers of these people make their existence from living off the domestic violence racket. All of those people have to protect their existence, their careers, their reputations, and their agenda.
We've been inundated for decades with a one-sided public hysteria campaign via every facet of society. Yet, despite women's violence reaching an historical high, and male victims accounting for almost half the victims, the 'awareness' raised to this reality is pitiful and infinitesimal. The public have become conditioned to "If you repeat a lie often enough, it becomes the truth." And if you only hear one point of view without any objectivity, you have the definition of propaganda!
Furthermore, the definition of domestic violence has become so broad it's delved into the absurd. It's deemed domestic violence if a man shouts, slams a door, refuses to speak, doesn't hand over HIS money when his girlfriend/wife demands it, stares sternly at a woman, criticizes. The perverse irony is how a woman slapping, punching or groin-kicking a man isn't domestic violence. It's comedy, remember? And what is the reaction of most women, without knowing the facts? "The ba#tard probably deserved it." That's called blaming the victim I believe!
Given the inherent lack of testicular fortitude by the police and judiciary, to abide by their oaths and apply the rule of law equally, women have effectively been handed a 'batterers charter' to attack men with impunity!Last edited by Celtic Druid; 24th-November-2011 at 01:37 AM.

'Locally,' I've been a catalyst for men to speak out, no one has opposed my well researched input so far.

Re: A week of 'awareness' about domestic abuse.
Hmmm, wonder how long till the word "women" will be mentioned:
Wow, a whole first paragraph, and no mention of it!City probation service is taking part in a campaign to raise awareness of domestic violence through its work with both victims and perpetrators.
NO WAY!!!! Two paragraphs, and no bias displayed; is this going to be a FAIR article! The Domestic Abuse Awareness Week, which runs from Monday to November 25 will see a number of organisations take part in the campaign, this year being run locally by the City Safeguarding Children Board and the City Domestic Abuse partnership.
Ah, there it is; the agenda is apparent. Still, THIRD paragraph! I'm jolly tempted to get them for their overwhelming misogyny levels! I mean, surely the word 'women' should be in every other sentence.....Kathy Neeson, a senior probation officer in City, said: "Probation runs a domestic violence perpetrator programme, called the Integrated Domestic Abuse Programme (IDAP) for offenders who have abused women partners.Last edited by byslexic_danana; 24th-November-2011 at 03:51 AM.

I trust you will be one of the "shoppers", to whom they will be giving information about what their work involves? Perhaps not as much information as you'd like, however....who deliver this programme will be on a domestic abuse stand at City information throughout next week and will be available to talk to shoppers to give them information about what their work involves."There are lies, damned lies, and there are feministic statistics". Re: A week of 'awareness' about domestic abuse.
On Tuesday morning I happened to be in the same room as a TV broadcasting the Channel 9 (Australia) 'Today' show. There was a discussion about another Channel 9 show's interview with an actor who had starred in a Channel 9 drama (ridiculous cross-promotion, but Channel 9 is desperate for ratings). Apparently this actor had been violent towards his partner and the discussion came around to talking about DV in general. One of the panel, Liza Wilkinson, stated to the effect that it didn't matter what happened before an assault, the wrong starts when that hand is raised. To be honest, this sort of simplistic thinking is no more than you'd expect from someone whose background is in those pillars of journalistic integrity ....... women's magazines! The trouble is that people who watch Channel 9 lack the intelligence to challenge such statements and will absorb this garbage as fact. Keep feeding the masses crap and all they will aspire to is crap.

Re: A week of 'awareness' about domestic abuse.
Blaming the victim? This is unacceptable!
Fine. as I reported previously, it is women who initiate violence at 3 times the rate of men.
Let her be consistent with her bigotry and begin upon a productive path.
Do they want women jailed at 3 times the rate?
There is an acceptable culture where women batter men to perpetuate a nonsensical ideology -
Sexism lives and Liza Wilkinson is why western men are distancing themselves from their womenfolk!Last edited by Celtic Druid; 24th-November-2011 at 10:19 AM.

Re: A week of 'awareness' about domestic abuse.
Walking through town, today, what should I see, but one of these very 'domestic abuse awareness' stalls. Several women, and one man(gina) were running it. I was going to go up and ask them some questions, such as what their take was on male victims, and what classed as 'abuse'; alas, however, I hesitated for a few minutes, and then they started to pack up (well, it was 3pm, and you can't expect those sorts of workers to work LATE, can you?). I was rather nervous, at the thought of going up to several people with quite-possible-heavily-biased views, and questioning them. I would also have felt rather stupid, being seen in the company of people running such a stall. The question is: do I go back tomorrow?

Re: A week of 'awareness' about domestic abuse.
Would be interesting. What's ironic, is that while I was waiting, observing the stall, wondering whether or not to go over, a teenage couple passed, and the girl hit her boyfriend on the chest, hard enough to hurt. Oddly enough, I didn't see any man hitting a woman, during my wait. Funny, that! But, of course, only men are perpetrators of any kind of violence....
