UKMM - a "bonkers group"
Recently, I posted a thread detailing how the UKMM were slandered in a BBC article from 1999: BBC slander against UKMM
Today, I learnt that in a 2006 article written by Katy Guest for The Independent, the UKMM are described as:
Dictionary.com defines "bonkers" as:"A bonkers group"
Here is the article: Women are raped by men, not by alcoholmentally unbalanced; mad; crazy.
And here is the paragraph in which the UKMM are mentioned:
One man wheeled out to reinforce their horror was one George McAulay, chairman of a bonkers group called the UK Men's Movement. He blamed "radical Labour Party feminists" for implying that all men were rapists. Now I know that most men are not rapists. I like men. I know lots of them. And I know that if any of my male friends were confronted with an inebriated woman, begging him for sex and barely capable of remembering her own name, he would gently remove her shoes and put her to bed. By herself. They don't need a chief police officer to tell them that having a go at her at this point would be without her true consent and the mark of a total shit. Some men need telling, but most don't.Subscribe to my accounts on DocStoc, Scribd, Twitter and YouTube.

"....he would gently remove her shoes and put her to bed.""
