In the 'near future', we will be holding a competition for the MEMBERS of this forum. Thomas Ellis has agreed to supply a signed copy of his book for free to this forum/site as a prize for entries to this competition.

As of yet, no specific rules or entry conditions have been set, and as of yet the arrangements with Thomas Ellis are still being co-ordinated. So please do not make an entry just yet.

I'll be asking little glutton and Thomas Ellis to assist in judging the winner of the book.

Once full arrangements have been met and full terms have been drawn up then this competition will start... Until then, you'll have to wait for my tired old brain & little glutton's tired old gluttenous gut to come up with a master plan.

If you have any questions, let me know - taking account of the fact that i have stated no definate terms have been set as yet.

The thought of entering into any form of competitive venture with the folks on this site, people of such obvious high intellectual calibre and master word-smiths all, causes me to lose control of my aged bladder!

I got your e-mail. You said "e-mail friends," but I have noticed that this is only posted at your forum. Is this competition exclusive to your forum (such that no-one should post this at SYG, MND, blog, or MND's newspage)?

Edit note: Having re-read the e-mail and reached you via PM, I understand the point of it being a membership drive for this forum. I'll stick with e-mailing friends and blogging.

Perhaps post some sample rants (making sure you label them "Sample Rants"), so that people will be inspired/have a better idea what you're looking for.

This competition is open to anyone who wishes to partake in it. the only condition for entry is being a member, as anyone could claim they wrote the winning "guest" entry. Naturally, that might cause confusion, headaches, and perhaps heartache if someone else was responsible for the winning post under the title of 'guest'.

The competition can (and hopefully will be) posted anywhere you like, as long as those participating become members in order to submit their Rant. So folks, if you have any friends who might be interested in airing their own Rant and maybe winning a book in the process - show them this thread!!!

Talking points here? I'm glad that Karl got 3 entries. I was getting worried. They were all good. Factory's and Virtue's were very easy-to-read; which can be a good thing. Factory's was probably the easiest to follow. Bulldog was a little long on the analysis and maybe not so much for casual readers.
