Tears for Fears
Not a thread of great importance... Do not mistake it for band promotion thread tho', because it's not.
Anyway, anybody knows of this band Tears for Fears? They sold around 30 millions albums and all. One of their many hit songs, for example:
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FOA4ixV-3jU"]hit songs[/ame]
So, later I got a little more interested in their work, got their discography, etc. Then I started to notice some interesting stuff. In several songs I begun to notice pretty femicentric lyrics, which was bad, because I actually like the melody and stuff, but those lyrics ruin the song for me, because I don't feel like listening to feminist bullshite even in songs I listen to.
Examples are here:
1.) basically the whole song Woman in chains seems just like same ol' same ol' poor women have it so bad crap. Too bad, because the song without the lyrics is pretty good.
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7hDoPCiC3RQ"]Woman in chains[/ame]
2.) In the song Raoul and the kings of Spain, the lyrics go:
Sounds like cheap antifather bullshite, don't need to hear it in my music.Did you know all mothers come from heaven
Did you know all fathers come from hell
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1H0kaasdkiU"]Raoul and the kings of Spain[/ame]
But then today, I heard another of their songs, called Laid so low, and there's actually a pretty clear anti-mother line in it:
Just as I was about to dismiss them as a mangina band, I see somethig like this?!And where your mother's violence
Sent your soul underground
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8F32vL71LTw"]Laid so low[/ame]
So, what's the deal with this Roland Orzabal (heart and soul of this band)? He's an english chap, so was wondering, is he's known for his pro-female activism there, etc., or am I just seeing things which aren't there, making too much of his lyrics and all... Anyone has any take on this band in this regard?Last edited by Rebadow; 18th-November-2007 at 11:30 AM.

Re: Tears for Fears
Just sounds just like an expansion/variant of boys are slugs and snails and puppy dogs tails. Girls are sugar and spice and all things nice (something like that crap).2.) In the song Raoul and the kings of Spain, the lyrics go:
Did you know all mothers come from heaven
Did you know all fathers come from hell
Worst still, men spewing forth their own self-belittling propagandized eventual demise.
Possible degrees of chivalrous indoctrination? (look at the mother first and foremost for most mens initial gynocentric infection). Most Moms always side with females she's never met, as opposed to her own son. "Treat her with respect" and "be nice to her." WTF, you haven't even met her!
Or a later infestation by girlfriend or wife for accepting a concept of "hatred of self" in exchange for pussy. Pathetic!
We always talk about feminism on this forum in depth and how it affects us, but something so many men fail to (deliberately!) acknowledge is the major source of "intial infestation" is sometimes their very own mothers!
Rebadow, sorry buddy I'm not trying to side-track the thread. Just being my freestyling self?
I'll desist from herein for a good few posts.

The internet has been a lifeboat for men's opposition to the floodings of feminism.

Re: Tears for Fears
Yes Rebbadow well spotted as ever, I have I suspected this band of feminist sympathies and I actually liked them in way back in the awful 80s, although unaware of the extent of their pc lyrics and pandering to the pc media.
I noticed a local newsreader a "man" ingratiating himself in the same way to fellow journos "...oh I am a man and we are usless you know ..."or words to that effect - the 3 other women newsreaders laughed and heartily agreed.
I noticed within a year he resigned and the local news has mostly women readers now.
I dont honestly know why he resigned ,but my guess - I dont think he could stand workin with these EP's any more.
He acted the mangina and got a kick for it. Men who suck up to feminists evenetually get a kick in the balls for their crawling.feminism is a disease the Doc is working on a cure. Symptoms include compulsive liar, constant aggression, allergic to logic, often affects women who are fat with short hair and big earings, but can be normal looking.
Reason tablets three taken daily. If the sufferer displays shaming tactics double the dose. Remarkably the illness disappears in disaster zones.
