Without wishing to repeat myself, but of course doing so anyway, I have to say that full credit is due to Melanie Phillips both for her continuing insight, and her eloquence, in observing just how the United Kingdom's current government is deliberately destroying the traditional family unit. I have nothing but admiration and respect for her bravery and common-sense on issues concerning both the U.K and the wider world. The following article is yet another tour de force in commenting on the extent to which men, primarily, have increasingly been cast aside, and in doing so, are no longer being regarded as an important part of the family unit. http://www.melaniephillips.com/articles-new/?p=440 It's incredibly endearing to see a prominent woman in the U.K.'s media, side with men with such consistency and over such a long period of time too. I regard her as being a rare and, as is more often than not the case, the only voice of sanity both on radio and tv over recent years. She's a great supporter of men's issues, but nevertheless is a strong woman in her own right. Taking somewhat of a liberty here, as this has absolutely nothing to do with men's issues as such, I do find it very troubling that she, as a Jewish person living in the United Kingdom, feels so under attack from large swathes of the leftist elites which have come to dominate the U.K.'s print and broadcast media in recent years. There's a distinct and rising undercurrent of anti-semitism both in the U.K. and throughout Europe which I don't like one little bit, and I'm not Jewish. I only dare mention this as she has been, and very often still is, a firm supporter of issues that are currently of great concern to men as a group in our society. | ||||

indeed she is a rarity amongst British women, well American too, and perhaps half the world. But nonetheless, she's a diamond amongst the shards of crap that surround her. I consider her to be an incredibly strong, independant woman. Duncan recent gave a blog entry on Labours hatred for traditional families.

Thanks for the heads up. I'd earlier noticed your reference to Duncan's blog in his domain on here, but a bit too late. I therefore plead guilty on all charges for duplicating the story. I thought though that Ms Phillips' remarks were definately worthy of credit as her reaction to MP Alan Johnson's idiotic remarks were typical of your average MRA. Agreed, it's the rarity factor that makes her remarks worth reiterating. Aside from perhaps MP Ann Widdecombe, I can't off the top of my head think of too many other examples of women who are supportive of a man's point of view to any great extent. In broad reference to Duncan's observations on marriage, by and large I think women no longer wished to accept what marriage offered to them by the late 60's and early 70's, as was their right. Many women became militant, but now men are no longer wishing to accept what a woman's current definition of marriage is any longer. Feminist women simply aren't used to encountering male militancy, and aren't used to having men have the effrontery of actually answering back. Men, almost 40 years later, are simply excercising that very same right to decline what's on offer.

Well then, while we fellas are on a 'our rights too' roll, why not stand outside a prominent building & burn our y-fronts too! Just be sure they're clean on before taking them off!!!

Hmmm. I wonder who still wears y-fronts? Couldn't be anybody we know. I'm sure you meant boxers, which incidently I shall not burn for any cause no matter how worthy. Oh how quickly this thread is fast plumbing the depths of bad taste! :erm: We've outdone ourselves.
