Schools May Offer More Single-Sex Classes Under New U.S. Regulations

    Quote:
New federal regulations announced yesterday give school systems around the nation more flexibility in offering single-sex public education, even though the Department of Education concluded a year ago that there was not enough evidence to definitively evaluate single-sex classes.

Critics contended that the move was an invitation to schools to violate laws prohibiting sex discrimination in federally funded education programs.

Ah...those "liberals"; still clanking away with their rusty old boilerplate.

The REAL question that keeps getting pushed out the back door is whether
it's a good thing (or not) to sex-separate the pedagogic environment. This was common practice " back in grandpa's day", and we really ought to
interrogate the possibility that ol' gramps knew a thing or two.

Newer is not necessarily better. Sometimes it is, sometimes it
isn't - but regardless, we need to examine each case on its own merits. It
is generally a wise idea to live in a fact-based reality. Well, leastwise,
that's what MY grandpa always told me!

Besides, you would think that people would want to consider the best
    interest of the children
    - enough to investigate what that interest might
    actually BE, at any rate.
