Yet another example of the crazy Showbiz Glitz Razzmatazz circus that is the American political scenario. Obviously this woman doesn't have a todger but she has one godawful accent to rival that of that of another raucous sqawking banshee Hillary Clinton. There never seems to be an ending to American electioneering, and to the rest of the world it seems to concentrate far more on personalities and cheap upstaging and now very much on gender issues. This Palin woman has obviously been hauled in to support this redneck McCain bloke in the hope that it will attract all those females who supported Clinton in her quest for the Democratic nomination.

Many Europeans have no real idea of deeply divided America really and truly is - racially (there are large numbers of Americans who would never vote for a black - or even mixed race - man to be President) economically (there is a far wider gap between the rich and the poor, the insured and the unisured in terms of health coverage and lifestyle generally in America than there is in Europe) and now on the issue of gender - there really is an increasing divide between men and women over there, as there is here, and it is the wimmin who are promoting it all.

Sadly it's probably a shrewd move. Thatcher won the election in '79 on the back of the female vote. Women who had never voted before, voted for her JUST because she was a woman and many women who had previously voted labour switched over. Most men voted on the issues rather than gender.

Perhaps the era million dollar "grants" to academic wonks determining "Why rats engage in sex"
(*sigh*..or bridges to nowhere) will no longer be quietly and anonymously "attached" to must-pass "For the children...." expenditures. How much would THAT cash go toward
realistic "education" shortfalls? (HINT: "Free college/post grad humanities for ALL", mandatory kindergarten, extra "short busses", and "special" high schools for homosexuals, ain't it!)

Hey! Coupled with the elimination of the 35% OUTRIGHT FRAUDULENT "social health" expenditures, just maybe the U.S. COULD afford an assumption of charitable basic national health addressing IMPORTANT "health" issues for the welfare of ALL the legitimate American populace.

Well...it's ALSO her lack of rabid feminist credentials, lack of an ASTOUNDING set of matching designer excess "baggage", and lack of a complete "My Pretty Pony" play set.

I will probably not be appreciated by the following but please permit a dissenting opinion. I think I have credentials that are solid when it comes to the Men's Movement. But here goes. McCain is an insider with a lifetime of bucking the establishment and system. He was nearly expelled from the Naval Academy. Yet he is a descendant of one of George Washington's Staff. His Father and Grandfathers were Navy Admirals. All Real Men. So is he.

He chose an outsider. Who unlike the Three Male candidates has actually had Governing experience, short but experience. None of the Men running have ever run a State let alone a Nation.

She is a Lifetime NRA member, a Pro Choice, Born Again Christian Mom of 5. Who fishes, Hunts, eats Moose Stew, is a Hockey Mom whose oldest Son leaves for Active Duty in Iraq on September 11th. She has had a Down's syndrome baby her Fifth Child. Her Husband is a commercial Fisherman and a Union Member. She is a reform minded, clean up the Cronyism and corruption in Alaska Citizen who became Governor. She is a Reformer and a renegade who took on her Own Party. Perfect for McCain.

You obviously know more about the specifics here. I'm English so at a disadvantage. Do you actually think that if she was a man with all the same experience, but one of the other three men was a woman, that Palin would still have been chosen? Not being sarsastic or rhetorical, it's a genuine quiestion.
