Thumbs up San Diego (California, U.S.) prosecutor may begin prosecuting perjurers

Today I learned about a District Attorney in San Diego named Bonnie Dumanis who has teamed up with a local state senator to combat false allegations and perjury in court. Apparently perjury has gone unprosecuted for many years in this jurisdiction. She is making public statements that she's committed to cracking down on perjurers, which is a welcome sign. Of course, the proof is in the pudding, but what a welcome change!

Here is the Web site of the prosecutor, District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis:
    http://www.sdcda.org/office/meet.php

I have also attached District Attorney Dumanis' picture to this message.

In addition, Dumanis is teaming up with a local state senator, Senator Dennis Hollingsworth (Republican, 36th Senate District of California). Here is his Web site:
    http://republican.sen.ca.gov/web/36/

I have also attached Senator Hollingsworth's picture to this message.

I learned of this information from the California director of Fathers 4 Justice here in the U.S. His name is Donald Tenn (e-mail donald.tenn@ca.f4j.us), and he posted a message in his Yahoo group for non-custodial parents, here:
    http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ncp-ca...nto/message/12

Donald Tenn's alert referenced a discussion thread about the D.A.'s recent efforts in San Diego to prosecute perjurers, and you can read this thread here, at CourtHouseForum.com:

Lastly, a resource for those of us in the United States. There are now Web sites that let you do research on judges and lawyers, and rank them. THIS IS EXTREMELY USEFUL INFORMATION. CourtHouseForum (mentioned above) is one such service. But my two favorites are below:If there is any teeth to the notion that there is a prosecutor who is willing to take on perjurers (talking about it is itself a welcome change), then we have cause for celebration.

This is good news for our American friends. Hopefully we can get something similar like this in the UK.
