RIP Michael Clarke Duncan

Died of a heart attack. Age 54! Another statistic.

He was well known for playing the big fella in the Green Mile.
He acted in other movies and TV shows too...damn I really liked him.

I was reading about his life a bit and they said when his mom was dying he quit college and went to work fulltime to support her.
A Classic case of the Adult Child, sons that are raised by single mothers. There is definitely a correlation between boys that grow up without a dad and dying young. Although he had his big break, it looks like he went through some extremely stressful times, all that weighs in on your heart you know. And when you get old all your old injuries come back, and that includes your heart.

A shame to see him go.. Even without the exaggeration created with The Green Mile, he was a still a big sod.

Very sad. Goes to show, though, that excess weight to that extent, even if partly muscle, is not good. Weighing 300 pounds is not conducive to a long lifespan.

I met Michael once at a restaurant in El Segundo, Ca. I'm tall and big (6'5, 290 lbs). This dude was MASSIVE. If he would of played football, I'm sure he would of crippled his share of Quarterbacks. As I remember he was a fairly soft spoken man with the grace and poise of someone with great self confidence but not arrogance.

This is a sad end to a life and also begs a question. Why are heart attacks the number 1 killer of men and what can we do to prevent more men from suffering the same dreadful end?

I don't know anyone who can't survive a myocardial infarction.
The three main risk factors are age, gender and diabetes.

Last night I wanted to make a video about it but got bogged down by installing new software.

When things like this happen we should make videos about it right away to raise awareness. Michael Clarke Duncan was at the top of the internet searches on the day of his death and yesterday. Unfortunately we lost the opportunity to come out with an awareness video in time....its not too late but we missed the boat. *kicking myself* I don't want him to die for nothing, his death is a testament to the state of affairs. We all need to work to stop the madness.
