Resolved Question: Why do people call me a feminist extremist because I fight sexual violence?
From Yahoo Answers
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/in...1173552AAv8TadSuch as rape, sex trafficking, etc. This is really one of the few parts of feminist ideals I truly believe in and work for, but every time I throw the word feminism out there it doesn't matter what else I'm saying, suddenly I'm an extremist bitch. And it's not like I accuse all guys (or really, many guys at all) of being rapists or these inherently evil sex fiends. I know it's a small percentage of men (and women for that matter), so why is it such a big deal? Why do people automatically label me once I talk about helping out my fellow women? I'm so confused!EDIT: For the record, I mainly do work with organizations. RAINN for example.

"Rape"? Or having sex and then regretting it afterwards?
"Sex Trafficking"? Or mutually consensual sex involving an exchange of money?

Because feminists tend to be bigoted extremists of the highest order.

An interesting spin. Most time women are confused on this, they think they are feminists but aren't really: they just give tacit acceptance to something that they haven't looked into deeply enough.
Why many women think they are feminists -- and why they are wrong.
Here instead is a woman who is probably spouting feminism and not realising it. She supports an organisation that tends to view sexual violence as ONLY something done by men against women - and thereby perpetuating a social problem felt by men, women and children - and yet wonders why people call her feminist.
Well, at least she doesn't seem to like being called a feminist, so the world is getting something right.____________________________________________
