What goes through your mind when you see a family where the woman is the basic head of the family and the man takes on the less-traditional role? Where, say, the woman "brings home the bacon" and the father is the "stay at home" parent, and the woman is in charge of the money and such? (Personally I don't think "roles" would work for me, equality is far, far better as one spouse should not be in charge over another--- male or female. I can't see myself as the traditional housewife. For some people I understand roles in a family work to a perfect extent, many women love being the housewife and men the worker and such...however, in society that is changing-- so what do you think?) Strange how many people assume that the male is somehow weak. I think it's despicable that since a man and a woman both agree that the woman would be the head, that somehow the man would be incompetent, weak, or lazy! What does that say about how society sees women? How sad...and yes I have seen many families run like this that are successful and happy, with long-lasting marriages. However, personally I do not think that either the male or female should be the head of a family-- I believe that they should be one and the same, together in all things.(I'm not giving thumbs up or down, since this is an opinion question, by the way.)
