The positive for men
We seem to always look at women that get off crimes. While we never look at the crimes they get caught for cause it's not in media attention.
A black man is always news while a black woman isn't. Why is this?
In New Zealand women get 9 months jail for lying. They get 7 years for abusing a child.
Can I ask what women get in your country?
I don't want to hear of one cases cause I know men also get let off for murder etc. I've sat in court and watched it.
It depends on circumstances. Like being white helps some, while being Maori helps some.
What really happens in your country?Ignorance is the Oppressor, Vigilance the Liberator.

Re: The positive for men
I am sorry men for I don;t exactly know what you want.
I get the Psychologists want half men/ half women and half men/half women in parliament.
I guess I didn't see their clients as they do. When I faced my second hitman, I felt "how dare you for we all had the same opportunity but I didn't cross that line and you can't come back cause you knew too of the consequence".
But I didn't treat him as a killer though now and then I wonder how he killed men. (He changed his mind once he became a father)
Thing is,..... men online are professionals while I am just an office worker (now) and before that I didn't have papers. I am also a orphan and have been for decades with 5 younger siblings and my mother was a single mother who couldn't read or write.
You are all better than me I reckon. And me and my children will just adapt whatever you do.Ignorance is the Oppressor, Vigilance the Liberator.

No, no, no!
I'm just an arse-wiper. Seriously, I work with adults with learning difficulties and that includes wiping bottoms. I have no credentials - I'm currently working towards my first properly recognised certificate. I'm not better than anyone and I'm certainly not a professional of any degree.

Re: The positive for men
Big question Julie.
I vaguely remember Oprah Winfrey being asked why the majority of the US prison population is black.
True to form, and loyal to her race, she explained that black Americans experience unique social problems and sometimes crime, though not excusable, seems like their only way forward.
As a follow-up, she was then asked why the majority of the US prison population is male. She was much less articulate on that question.
Does anybody here have a source for that interview? It's very relevant to Julie's question.
IMHO "Crime and Punishment" is all about according blame to those that refuse to comply. The 'refuseniks' can be counted by gender, ethnicity, religion and social class. Whichever way you cut it, the majority will be male.

Re: The positive for men
The entire abuse industry has been blown out of proportion. Stats demonstrate that all crime committed by men has reduced over the last two decades. But it makes good hysterical headlines for people sitting at home watching the screen to think that their existence is better because they can see other lives generally suck. Those stories of mayhem and murder make good ratings as people do not want good news, they want bad news. human nature at work..
Several companies tried in the past to introduce "Good News" Programs, Magazines and Newspapers but no one was interested and they went under. Feminists have thrived under this by falsely claiming that it's on the increase but it's only female violence and law breaking that is on the increase which demonstrates how well their doctrine is working..

Re: The positive for men
Real interesting - about good news. NZ's morning show is taken over by lesbians and gays. But,ummm, it's boring now.
I don't think women's violence is boring to veiwers in NZ. Not since men have come alive with vioce.
I never heard of feminism in Australia. I asked my ex if heard of feminism (he's NZ) and he said no.Ignorance is the Oppressor, Vigilance the Liberator.

Re: The positive for men
As one primary example of inequality that feminists want to retain (because it only affects men negatively and keeps women out of prisons) is that under English law, a woman can NEVER be a 'rapist' with the sole exception to having raped a minor - but even then the media usually misreport such situations as 'teacher had affair with student' or similar in order to a) leave her gender out of it so people 'assume' it's a male tutor and b) remove the word 'rape' in order to make her crime seem less.

Re: The positive for men
In America there is a real difference in how women are sentenced as compared to men. Lying to the police always get prosecuted when men are involved, usually a 9-15 month sentence. There was a woman who recently got convicted of lying to the police about her boyfriend's dope stash (3 Kilos of Pot). She was given a 12 month suspended sentence and 200 hours community service, a $500 fine, and 1 year probation.
As for rape allegations that have been proven false, even by the police who could charge women with filing a false report, Nothing, perhaps a whack on the hand by the judge. The prosecutors (usually women in rape accusations, or trials) blow past this injustice and move on to the next case. Where I live this is routine.
Child abuse is the hot button crime in the US. If convicted of felony child abuse, men usually get between 4-6 years. If its really bad, 10-15 years. Women routinely get Probation and community service, probation and a fine, referral to mandatory counseling and a fine, or if the abuse was really bad, 4-5 years. The abuse here is not sexual abuse of child. When that comes into play men get 25 to life in prison, for women it a crap shoot. Some get 5 years, some get 30 depending on the severity.
And people wonder why MRA's get so pissed off at the disparity in crime sentencing.Last edited by The Possible Human; 23rd-December-2011 at 08:47 AM.
