    Pink Hard Hats

Interesting conversation I had with a friend yesterday .

He couldn't understand why women wear pink hard hats.

He said they work and scream for equality, yet when they do get a job in highway construction or any where else, the girl's wear pink hard hats.

Like he said, they want to be the same as men in men's job's but they insist on wearing pink helmet's.

My friend say's,wearing a pink hard hat throws their movement back to the stone age.

    Any thoughts on this?

In all seriousness most women don't want equality or even superiority. The want to be able to do whatever they want without consequence. It could be for breast cancer awareness but most likely it is because women and girls, while they try to throw them away, they have biological feminine traits that make them want to do feminine things here & there...

The girl's we were talking about are not on any campaign of any sort.

My friend and I got into quite the discussion on this and I told him that I would raise this issue on this site just to see what kind of feedback I get.

I think it's about visibility. Women wearing pink hard hats want to be noticed as women doing a job that men usually do.

If the only thing that makes these "women" noticeable as women is their pink hard hats, then that is pretty scary!

Paige from "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" would wear a pink hard hat. That would drive me crazy. Especially because (if I recall correctly) there were women in both the demo and consrtruction crews who wore yellow and white hats (depending on seniority). It's kinda hard to be "one of the guys" and stand out like that.

If it is all about drawing attention to their femaleness, do they wear red hats on 'those days of the month'?

Wait until the superbowl... I seem to recall hearing that the players will be wering.. get this, pink helmets...

Not sure if it's true, but this football fan will actually turn off the game if it is so. I mean, this infection is getting tiresome...

NFL Reaches Out as Super Bowl Approaches - Newsroom - Inside INdiana Business with Gerry Dick

"The following are just some of the ways the NFL and Super Bowl XLVI will benefit the host community:
SUPER BOWL XLVI PLAYBOOK WORKSHOP SERIES FOR SMALL, MINORITY
    AND FEMALE BUSINESS OWNERS
The NFL has partnered with the 2012 Indianapolis Super Bowl Host Committee and the Kelley School of Business to deliver a series of business development workshops designed to educate, engage and empower the owners of Indianapolis’ minority and women-owned small business community. The workshops are presented by the NFL Emerging Business Program as part of the NFL's broader business outreach initiative."

So are they going to play football or conduct self empowerment workshops for women and minority business owners?

From the NFL: NFL.com news: NFL goes pink with A Crucial Catch

"One of the most integral aspects of the NFL's A Crucial Catch Campaign is the eye-catching pink apparel worn by players across the league. This would not be possible without the help of the NFL's key licensees including: » Reebok (Cleats, gloves, wristbands, Officials BCA hats)
    » Adidas (Gloves)
    » Under Armour (Cleats, Gloves)
    » Nike (Cleats, gloves)
» Riddell (Pink helmet chin cups)
» Wilson (BCA football and BCA quarterback towels)
» Pro Specialties Group (Pink shoelaces and BCA pins)
» The Longaberger Company (High-end baskets used to collect BCA NFL Auction items)
» Topps and Panini (Creating a joint 128 card set (4 cards per Team) supporting A Crucial Catch. All 32 clubs will use as giveaways at team shops in October)"

And of course a womans shirt that has nothing to do with football:

I suppose the traditional after match victory "roast" will just be some food now then?

Would never happen in the UK..

British Footballers have an excellent wholesome and manly attitude towards the game as evidenced by the footballing legend roy rogers..
