Re: Open Question: Will Sarah Palin set the standard for conservative feminism? | |
My crystal ball is cloudy. I know nothing of this woman politician.
It is almost amusing that we, the great unwashed furriner contingent who are watching this American Circus raising its tent are assailed daily with Obama and Hillary and Biden et al now have to contend with two other people we know little about. As if it mattered anyway.
So we have in the red corner a Racist chap who calls himself black although he is no more black than he is white, running with a slimy turd who is well known amongst us all for the horns on his head and his antipathy to 49% of his own population, and with a harridan locked in the cupboard who keeps banging and shouting and demanding;
and in the blue corner an old chap who looks rather bemused most of the time as though he's wandered out of an old folks home and is waiting at a bus-stop to go home and can't quite remember where home is, now accompanied by a woman in a parka with the hood up against the snow and wind. Is she his nurse?
I know more about President Putin than would-be Vice President Palin. I have a sort of feminised face in my head of Michael Palin dressed in medaeval rags in a Monty Python sketch and having just found a locked treasure box. A big expectant smile with just a hint of worry that he's going to get caught.
I feel a bit like the people of Jerusalem must have felt hearing about someone from Genoa being in the Senate. "Where the fuck's Genoa? It's not a friggin' Egyptian again is it? What'll happen to the bread prices"
I have tried all my life to leave the place better than I found it. But there are 6 billion other buggers out there messing it up. I am outnumbered. But... YOU don't just make a difference, you make THE difference. |
