Open Question: Why is it that race and gender discrimination issues are on two different levels?

    From Yahoo Answers
    Quote:
When women bring up an ideal for equality or stress anything involved with feminism, they get called names like man haters or feminist Nazi's etc. But it's considered politically incorrect or racist (which is a serious offense), to call names at a racial minority when they express the same ideals etc. For some reason it seems lesser of the two evils to be sexist than racist in our society. Why is that? Both have suffered immensely from the same oppression, what’s with the double standard? Both were slaves. Both suffered oppression. Its a little besides the point to measure pain, don't ya think.

Is there really someone comparing slavery or being a jew under the nazi regime with being a woman?

If not, we'll become like the bigoted feminists that this movement was formed to oppose.
