Open Question: Why do women have more 'choices' in society?

Do you think we're working towards and will soon reach a position where both men and women have an equal number of choices? ~What I am referring to here is that society affords women to choose whether to follow the typical paths traditionally reserved for, men and/or at the same time allowing women to follow the traditional 'female' path. -E.g. stay at home with kids, be dependent, knowingly go into low paying career fields simply because she finds them interesting- yet still be afforded to live a comfortable life (by being financially dependent on a man), extra social help with feminism etc...~ Now of course, outside of the feminism men can make all of these same choices as well; there is no law preventing it. However we all know that there is far less social accommodation for a man to pursue to be dependent on a woman than the converse. So when if ever do you feel society will accommodate men and make these choices women have as being truly viable? Or are we even working towards this at all?
