Open Question: Why do so many sitcoms show the father to be incompetent and the mother?

to be head of the house? Is this not sending the message to boys to avoid marriage and children? Is it little wonder with influences like the above, feminism and the way laws pertaining to male/female relationships are often against men, why men in their 20's are so anti marriage and children?Maybe its a good thing, as you only have a 50/50 chance of having a lasting marriage anyway. So in fact these sitcoms are doing men a favour.gilder - like a lot of men my age, marriage and children is more of a nightmare than a dream. I actually have no desire to reproduce anyway. My family line will die with me, but who cares?

Why do the movers and shakers of Hollyweird seek to destroy society in favor of a hedonistic leftist / feminist / homosex hate pogrom???
Well - Because they can... And it feeds their own pathological mindset. Ahem.
Rob Reiner (the character 'meathead' on the Archie Bunker show of the 1970s) is a great example of hollyweird propagandists bankrolling the attack on marriage in federal court.
The Archie Bunker show ('all in the family') was a propaganda tool in which the main character 'Archie' was continuously set up as a stooge 'straw man' for leftist activists to skewer in a 'funny' way.
He was scripted to repeat certain segments of the arguments of those who hollyweird was fighting against, but always stating them badly and always eventually losing to their superior 'moral' points.
True Misandrist Propaganda at its best - in order to engage in the BAMN BAMN - Bash Men - By Any Means Necessary - pogroming of the left.

It's about money, in this case advertising revenue. It's the same dynamic in advertisements, showing the wife/girlfriend or mother as the mature adult in contrast to the childish male(s).

Answered.
The reason for this is very simple, it's because men are funnier than women, and are far more skilled at making people laugh.
It's very easy to assume men are portrayed in a negative light, but we're talking about sitcoms, their entire agenda is to make us laugh, and who gets the laughs in sitcoms, is it the person who everything goes right for, or is it the person who always makes mistakes?
My gripe is with adverts, as there is no reason for men to constantly be shown as buffoons to sell merchandise, but someone has to be the buffoon in order to get laughs in sitcoms, and the reason it's mostly men is because men are funnier.
In Extras, Maggie is the dimwit, but she's the funniest character in the show because of it, it's not showing women in a negative light, it's a comedy, so if she's making us laugh all the time, that's showing women in a good light.
Go all the way back to the classics, who was the buffoon getting the laughs? Was it the women? No, they're always portrayed as bossy and always right, that's not exactly positive in comedy world, serious and always right doesn't get the laughs.
Who is funnier,
Basil or Sybil?
Raymond or Deborah?
Fred or Wilma?
Homer or Marge?
Larry or Sheryl?
Jim or Barbara Royle?
Peter or Lois Griffin?
Comedy's number one aim is to make us laugh, and in most cases it's only mission accomplished because of the brilliance and skill of men, please don't take this away from men, it's something to be proud of, not to be taken the wrong way, we should be happy that we make the laughs.
Also consider this, women only look all-knowing when in the presence of a male buffoon, almost as if they could never look that way in the presence of competent, intelligent men, something to think about.Hugh & Mary Discuss Feminist Related Issues (ALL SUBTITLED): http://www.youtube.com/view_play_lis...0081D259987DCD
