Open Question: Why do a lot of people have such a narrow view of Feminists?

We're not all completely mental, and we don't all think that we are superior to men, we don't all think that society should have only lesbian couples and a matriarchal outlook. So why do a lot of people associate that with the rest of us? I'm a liberal feminists, yes it's been unequal in the past, but it's improving a great deal now, so why do some people still have such a narrow grasp of what feminism really is? Willy you people learn to read, I did say we are not all like that! Liberal and Marxists Fems do not believe in anti-men, can't you see that? Confused, twas a question that our sociology teacher gave us, not one made up in my mind, obviously you've not yet learnt to read :(

My answers:

Harriet Harman is a British Member of Parliament. She is the 'equality minister' and 'womens minister'...

She is pushing to close all women's prisons, convert them to men's prisons. She is pushing for higher conivction rates for rape by converting lonely men who seek sexual encounters from prostitutes into 'rapists'. She is pushing to put in places laws that push men out of work and on to the streets in favour of women in the work place (who, socially are more acceptable to stay at home than men). And so on.

And, she is a feminist.

Ha!

Now, show me where this 'equality' business comes into it again, 'cos I'm failing to see even a shred of equality of the feminists in government.

Because feminism wears blinkers. I've had 'moderate' feminists tell me that a law which forces men to have sex with their wife (or face potential imprisonment) is not sexist.

I'm tired of the manipulation and word games that feminists employ to trick people into believing sexism exists where it clearly doesn't. I'm tired of feminists seeking sexism as a one-way street, when the truth is it's a two-way street. And when these things are pointed, you're simply accused of being a misogynist for daring to use common-sense to make an observation that even children can see clearly.
