Open Question: What is the difference between classic feminism and modern feminism?

Open Question: What is the difference between classic feminism and modern feminism?

    From Yahoo Answers
Hi. I don't want to sound ignorant, but I'm not familiar with the distinction. I was a younger woman in the 70's, so I grew up with idea of women having choices. A womans work was valued whether she was a businesswoman or a homemaker. She had the choice to stay single or married. This was the atmosphere that I lived in. I see the term modern feminism used often, and I must admit I don't know what it is in comparison. Many of you are articulate and knowedgable, could you explain this in todays terms? Thanks in advance.

    My answer:
    Old feminism: "We need equality"
New feminism: "We insist on supremacy"
Future feminism: "Where have all the men gone?"
(Answer to above question): "They left for Earth v2... fed up being hated."

The most offensive thing you can do to a feminist is treat her with FULL equality.

The first version also benefitted men to at least an equal extent..

(Women working meant men had more cash to spend when they came home and handed it over to sir..)

(Men had access to more pussy than before)..

The current version benefits no one..

(Women working means house prices have gone up ten fold and no one seems any better off than before relatively)

(Pussy is now rotten, diseased and worthless, since it is usually attached to a foul mouthed horrorbag who lost what little femininity it had as soon as she reached the age of consent after being trained in sluttery by the school system of promiscuity promotion to support the abortion trade..)

Women now want men who where like men used to be before feminism activated their gag reflex..

Men now want women who used to be men, or women that appear on webcams and dont require physical contact, disease risk and can be switched off immediately..

The only difference between classic feminism and modern feminism is the progress made.

Other than that it is the same.

Exactly julie, there is no difference.

When people compare "classic [old, good] feminism" as distinct from "modern [nasty, bad] feminism" they're spreading BS.

It does seem like an effective rhetorical device though, to create this utterly false dichotomy between two or more radically different "feminisms".

    an interesting idea !

I believe in the future sometime this will be a hologram - three dimensional and by wearing a special suit the sensation will be like as if actual physical contact with a woman

and the characteristics of these virtual woman will be able to be programmable to requirements by the owner of the technology

he will perceive and feel it it as a real woman like in a movie I saw with Arnie Total Recall - but his trip went wrong

can you imagine the wrath of the femints when this technology comes to the fore - they will chatter their feminit mantras like a soliloquy - not a man in sight ha ha

( SeeC would suffer unimaginable chagrin with such technology)

one could have a virtual woman almost indistinguishable from a real one yet not an speck of malice and no risk of a order to attend a Family court for dismemberment

there are a lot of frustrated, beaten and lonely men that would invest in such a technology methinks

Ultimately that is one of the many factors that's pushed up house prices over the decades, so it hasn't got us very far.
Feminism tries to disempower men who were never that empowered to start with

Re: Open Question: What is the difference between classic feminism and modern feminis

One of the replies from 'Ruthie':
This is just a stab in the dark so don't quote me because I could be wrong but:
I've always thought of 'classic faminism' as the fight to have what you grew up with. Women having the SAME choices as men women being equal. Women getting the same pay and opportunities not being discriminated by their gender.
'Modern Feminism' seems to be the more lazier/negative side of women's rights. They basically do to men what was once done to women, they generalize and hate the whole gender of men whether they are good or bad people. They want special rights (as in they want the positive side of having equal rights but not the negative such as women being able to be in the army but not eligible to be drafted, that is if the draft were ever to be reinstated that's just an example though) They blindly follow those of the same gender no matter what their beliefs are (*cough*sarahpalin*cough*) they look down on men as if they are the scum of the earth and they basically just want to make men breeding stock.
That's my take on it anyway, like i said I could be wrong
When on earth did men hate women as a gender? When did they negatively stereotype them to the extent men are now? Yes men may have patronized women (usually in a loving way, rather than the hate that's spewed at men), but they never portrayed them as inferior scum of less value.
