Open Question: Should we be wary of confusing feminism with equalism?

    From Yahoo Answers
Feminist "theorists" are way off beam and they often trot out a lot of nonsense. They invent things in their own minds and call them "constructs" and this thing about men and women being the same is a prime example of that.Equalism (unlike feminism) is about recognizing that men and women are born DIFFERENT but are of EQUAL WORTH, and entitled to FAIR TREATMENT under JUST LAWS. Note the words in capitals, they are of the essence. (http://www.celticsurf.net/phpBB3/viewforum.php?f=2 )Feminism is sexist-based, sexist-biased, and therefore socially DIVISIVE. (But equalism regards all men and women as PEOPLE regardless of their gender and colour of their skin.)Some feminists try to hijack the name equalism in an attempt to shrug off their discredited feminism label. BUT THEIR THINKING REMAINS FEMINIST RATHER THAN EQUALIST. Feminism and equalism are two quite different things, reflecting completely different attitudes.

Re: Open Question: Should we be wary of confusing feminism with equalism?

    Maybe it's just me.
Maybe I've had a different track toward education than most.

I have NEVER had a problem discriminating between what many caaaaall "feminism" and, say, "humanism. Nor have I ever had an issue with "gray areas" where bigotry, misandry, and OTHER psychopathic delusions of grandeur hide behind the popular umbrella of "Feminism".
It's been my experience that apparently, words mean something, and actual actions speak
louder. Of course, I'm simply touting "old saws" that seem to have withstood the test of
the entire history of civilization as we know it.

"Equalism" (who gets to define that THIS time?) is simply the folly of "free" welfare-and it's slacker abuses, redefined as charity, to it's inevitable extreme. Once again, the ENTIRE history of mankind's lessor philosophers/marginal cultists attempts to decry human nature, as well as natural selection, have proved those self-alleged "Equalists" to be no more than self-serving charlatans.

Yep, you can fool some of the people ALL of the time, and plenty of snake oil sellers, past present, and future, will live quite comfortably by the labor of the never ending supply of those to the left of apex side of the personal experience examination comprehension(1) bell curve.

    (1) Sounds more politically correctthan "stupid".
