    Off-topic...silver and gold

Just wondering if anyone here is a silver or gold bug?

I noticed gold sky-rocketed almost $40 oz on friday and silver also climbed almost $2 per oz.

Anyone have any clue's as to why this is happening now?

I think that both "physical" gold and silver will start a straight up climb due to world economy and the over-printed U.S. paper dollar.

The prices have been manipulated in an attempt to make the U.S. dollar look better for investor's.

I am talking real physical silver and gold-not certificate's(paper).

I believe silver will far out-perform gold.

Anyone with any input or opinion's?

People buy gold when they are uncertain about the stability and robustness of the economy. It's cyclical with both silver and gold, especially during election years. I don't think silver will outperform gold because of the perception of value vs market supply. About 10 or so big players dictate the silver supply and they won't be releasing more to market unless they are in dire straights.

Silver will outperform gold in my opinion.

Silver is used and "needed" in industry and production.

There isn't enough to keep going.

    Paper is just that....paper.

The gold to silver ratio is the prime target of manipulator's.

If the silver was on target with gold it would be worth triple what it is now.

Start watching for old silver coins.

    Thats how I started.

I actually have quite a few silver coin's from the u.k. that were handed down through family.

I try and buy at least an ounce every month.

Silver 1 ounce round's are not that expensive........yet.

I will let you in on a little secret. Gold will peak at around $3K/oz around 2020 and will start to fall dramatically after that. I have the 'inside scoop'. I have a chart I generated on two very important pieces of info which is all public knowledge, just not many people are putting two and two together. So far it is SPOT ON. It has nothing to do with people being scared or what not, those types of things are water under the bridge. If you want to know, ask me in PM I wont go posting this little tidbit out in the open. I think only friends deserve to know.

One more thing, I refuse to buy paper gold. Buy real physical gold, just be careful where you get it from. I have quit buying gold because its only doubling my money in 8 years...there are lots of ways to double your money in shorter time, plus there's still that risk and you really need to have a good secure way to hold on to gold for 8 years.

If you are really into gold, just keep on buying then sell in about 8 years. Trust me.

You don't seem to have a pm option.

I am interested in your theory and would be interested in knowing more.

Ya I don't see an option on yours either.... I don't even see how I can get to my inbox. Did something happen to the forum software?

I think it's a glitch due to the removal of PM rights from spammers. Hopefully it will be fixed soon...in the meantime just write a memo so you don't forget to ask later?

Just my suggestion, maybe Marx has more information.

There is a 'none persistent' notice (i.e. yellow block at the top of the page that only shows ONCE per visit and can be deleted using the red-x) explaining that spammers were misusing the PM functionality of AM to promote other websites. Given I've expressed my distaste for AM to be misused as 'free advertisement for other sites', it's clear they've done so intentionally to avoid detection. Nonetheless, the spamming site has enough exposure on AM (positive exposure, I might add) to avoid need for spammers to continue hammering away. If they seek more exposure so desperately, they need only ask an admin to help out, and they'll happily forward any requests to me - I've no problem promoting sites, I do take issue at AM being misused as a freeby spam-all-you-like site.

So doubling your money on gold in 8 year's is a bad thing and you can do better?

    Where and how?

I believe gold will far out reach $3000 an oz in 8 year's.

I also believe silver will out do gold as far as investment value goes plus it's a lot more affordable.

From the thing's I have read, there is plenty of gold, silver will be rare if not impossible to get by 2020.

There is already less silver than there is gold. Industrial usage of silver is at an all-time high.

    Re: Off-topic...silver and gold

I don't have any strong feelings about silver but thats not to say it wont be what you are saying.

About doubling my money in 8 years...well you can buy and sell things over the course of a year and make way more money. Starting a business in general terms you can get way more in return from your money in shorter time (then again its riskier). For example, supposing you have enough cash and a good business idea and business plan, you can start turning pure profits within three years (normal for businesses).

Case in point, one time (back when I was big on Nissans) I came accross a car parts shop that was going out of business. I found complete engine gasket kits for $50. These kits I recognized as OEM and I sent the owner a message that I wanted to buy 4 kits with $200 (the only extra money I had on hand at the time). Well he ended up giving me his entire lot of 10+ or so kits for that price and closed the doors the next day.

I turned around and sold them for $250 each to my fellow Nissan gear heads. Everyone was so grateful because these kits go for $500 new at the dealership. I was selling 2 kits a week and I was able to pay for a semester of my college in cash instead of taking out extra loans. I kept 2 kits for myself and I'm using them on my own engine rebuild. So right there is an example of how you can get more than double return on your money.

The trick is to be lucky enough to have stuff fall your way like you describe, then of course that would be a good way.

I generally do not come across circumstances like that.

I see gold broke $1700 U.S. and silver is still climbing.
