    News From The American Southwest

This is a nice blog tackling feminism from a different perspective.

On one of the posts I left this comment, which I repeat here because it illustrates the great difficulty of our struggle.

"The real crux of the matter is the mass entry of women to the work force - the concept of woman as an independent economic unit. The oral contraceptive pill was another gamechanger. Even if nothing was written on feminism until the 1950s when these changes came along, we'd still end up pretty well where we are today. These changes are more fundamental even than women getting the vote.

Everything really stems as an inevitable consequence of those trends. Quite frankly, until the concept of woman as independent economic unit, and birth control disappear (which is never), nothing will substantively change.

I've reached that new understanding recently.

The core issue is not the rhetoric - it is the changed economic and reproductive landscape. The rhetoric came secondary to that."

Not that we shouldn't address the rhetoric - the lies, the hypocrisy, the man-hatred, etc. But from a cause-and-effect point of view, the rhetoric is not really that important.

I was hoping another member here would take the time to explore the rest of the articles on this site. You are right. It has a different perspective from the majority of MRM material currently out there.

I see this as a way out for the MRM

let wimyn be even more independent - men just don't sign their Contract with sunset clauses as - asset rip offs legal child kidnapping endless peonage dues personal diminishment as a human being

young men should foster thier own destiny without signing the feminit peonage contract which is really a guaranteed pass to hell on earth

sure let wimyn be independent economic units that means they earn their own grits whilst us guys are holidaying in Acapulco

The irony is though, in doing what you prescribe above, you're doing exactly what the Feminists/Matriarchists want you to do.

They want men out of the family, and they want men to clear the way for women to take the positions of power.

Many MRAs actually suggest that just opting out and leaving things be is a "way out" for men. It's not really. It doesn't solve anything. This approach doesn't foster an understanding.

MRAs get too hung up on the marriage issue also. They don't realise it's a moving target. If women can't rape productive men via marriage, they'll do it through cohabitation laws, or even higher tax rates for men.

Don't think that by not having children, or not marrying - just minding your own business - that you'll avoid wealth-rape.

sure let wimyn be independent economic units that means they earn their own grits whilst us guys are holidaying in Acapulco
Future economic trends suggest that it will not be the male sex engaging in such activities.

Re: News From The American Southwest

"Men benefit from women's financial independence as it unburdens them of the old duties" sounds like an MRA variation on the "men benefit from feminism too!" theme that feminists are fond of.

Actually, I'm pretty sure they use that exact argument pretty often.

But really, men benefiting from women's financial independence is a myth.

    Because:

    1. You live in a Matriarchy.
    2. Women will invent new ways to rape men's wealth. The new ways will generally have no benefits to men - totally one-sided - and be more severe than the traditional methods of male providership for family.

Perhaps in the 1960s men thought along your lines. "The nuclear family is broken up, we have contraception and sexual liberation - no need to worry about providing for children." Perhaps feminists were telling men those very things.

Two decades later and men are paying for children they never see through alimony and child support. The promise fell through. The Matriarchy adapted. You're not going to get away that easy.

When feminists say that "feminism benefits men too", provided with some dubious argument, it's best to take it with huge lumps of salt. Feminists are in the business of selling their anti-man product to men. They'll make it look as attractive as possible and will not tell you about the conditions and complications years down the line, once men have signed up and thought "hey, great deal!".

Generally any "benefit" for men has serious strings and unforeseen consequences attached.

May I ask what age you are shaazam. Older MRAs seem to be more invested in the idea that the "marriage strike" is an effective strategy.

"Anonymous said... Men have now only responsibilities and not power in families.

That is why they do not care about you any more.

It is ridiculous women talking about taking their power back because women have now all the power."
