New Zealand is going nuts over my 'statement' in the paper

This is a discussion on New Zealand is going nuts over my 'statement' in the paper within the Chit chat (MAIN) anti misandry forums, part of the Introduction to anti misandry category; I'll say it again, "Media has it's own mind". It started with a review on single mothers being forced to ...

New Zealand is going nuts over my 'statement' in the paper

I'll say it again, "Media has it's own mind".

It started with a review on single mothers being forced to work or 'look for work' which is what the government is saying as we are down sizing left, right and centre in the private and government sector. I believe the government is turning people on people (divide and conquer allows government allot of cover, IMO) to take their attention from the real issues.

Anyways, besides the 2 page A3 article on single mothers being forced to work once the baby they have while on a benefit turns one, there was a snippet on another page that's got the country in an uproar.

I think it's funneeee, though it's showing how sick people are in NZ.
Women being 'driven to abortion' by welfare reform

A single-parent support group says some women are being driven to abort their babies because they are scared of the Government's new hardline welfare laws.

Julie Whitehouse, of the Auckland Single Parents Trust, says other mothers are going "underground" and trying to hide their babies from authorities rather than go back to work one year after giving birth.
A new law that will stop the clock on work obligations for only a year when women have new babies while on welfare is due to come into force on July 30 for youth benefits and on October 1 for sole parents and other beneficiaries.

It will make sole parents look for work part-time when their youngest child turns 5 and fulltime when that child turns 14. If they have another baby while on welfare their obligations will be deferred for a year, but they will then have to look for part-time work if their youngest previous child is then 5 or over.

A welfare working group led by economist Paula Rebstock said last year the change was needed to deter "a small minority of parents having additional children to avoid work expectations".

Interviews with solo mothers who have become pregnant again while on welfare have found that most plan to respond to the new law as the Government intends - by taking more care not to get pregnant again, and by agreeing to look for work after a year if they do have another baby.

But Ms Whitehouse, whose group organises social activities and support meetings for sole parents, says some of her members fear that any woman who gets pregnant while on welfare will be "in trouble".
"A number of young women who are pregnant don't follow politics. They have been afraid that they are going to be forced to abort their babies," she said. "What I see is that they are going to hide these babies. These beneficiaries are afraid of being pushed into work."

Green MP Jan Logie said she had a written testimony from one woman on the domestic purposes benefit in her 30s who said Work and Income had advised her to have an abortion. However the woman declined to speak to the Weekend Herald.

"There were other women who were saying they had heard that. That is the culture around these changes," Ms Logie said.

I have defended on radio and wish I had of known about popular NZ websites early in the day. Never-the-less, I believe all groups go through this sort of thing and the more I experience, the more I agree with people fighting back. If attacking works better than defending, then so be it - I take my hat off to those who attack (though I didn't yesterday - today is a new day).

PS - something is wrong.... the online article is different than the offline paper article. The offline one is worse, lol.

How can they force a woman to abort or work? Impossible surely?

or get someone, or "the taxpayer" to work for you..

and this has always been the basic deal women made with MEN..

so, why is the state pulling the deal now?

yea you have to work or else you don't survive.... what , this is news to them?
Gee, kinda sounds like equality with men in the respect that you have to work to support yourself and your kids. But that type of equality isn't what women want, is it?

Men get women to have kids and look after them.. Its been a good deal for a long time.. Why did women decide it was better to be a single mother slag and live off the state?

    Feminism.

They get a year off with pay to take care of their kids? Geez, I had to go back at 6 weeks with my daughter and 8 weeks with my son (he was C-section). It KILLED me. You know what grown-ups do when they don't make enough to support their families? Get a second job or a better job or sell something.

Oh, waah. They have to look for work - part time, mind you - when their youngest turns 5 and will be in school (I assume. That's the case here). But I don't understand. They would really consider abortion as an alternative to going to work? How does the mind even make that connection?? Makes no sense.

I dont see why women with young kids should ever have to "work".. Any society that expects women who already have a full time job (Being a mother) to take on another job is not a fair and decent one in my book and is not doing anything "in the childs best interests"..

I don't actually believe that anyone should ever be forced to work anyway, if we are against slavery, we must hold this principle strong and have it mean something.

Umm...if you don't work, you don't eat. That's what I was taught. I like eating and living in a house and having internet and stuff. It sucks if you have to work with small kids, but that's the choice you make.

Of course. I understand that the world does not go around by folks sitting around. But I also understand that there is a lot of wealth and a lot of folk hogging it and to my way of thinking that is pretty obscene and no one should have to starve..

The point is, social society has usually made efforts to protect children and mothers and I really cant see any argument to state that a woman can be doing work more important than being a mother, just a mother, for the first few months for sure, possibly right up to the first or even later birthday when the baby starts to move out from that needy stage.

Maybe folks should be asking WHY are mothers having kids when they have no means of supporting them.. Or, more to the point, no one is prepared to support them..

Thank big business for that. Getting behind feminism and getting women into the workforce made it possible to lower wages. Add to that the credit lifestyle that we've adopted, and it guarantees wage slaves forever. I really wish I could have stayed home with my kids (by the way, my divorce didn't happen until my youngest was 12), but it just wasn't possible.

Re: New Zealand is going nuts over my 'statement' in the paper

So, looks like feminism, wasnt the great "liberator of women from patriarchal oppression" it was made out to be..

It just became a case of "meet the new boss.. Same as the old boss.. But the new boss CAN tell you what you have to do and not do to be allowed to eat and breath and when you are allowed to spend time with your own kids.."

In other words, the boss at home has been changed to the boss in the workplace..

And now women are noting that men didnt perhaps have the better deal back then in the day when women could stay at home with the kids and men could make the money, and one wage was enough..

    That's because she was lying.

    That was easy!

Gee, umm, I all I can do is laugh for if I don't I will feel like I.... who cares, lol

When I cared about fathers, I learned research was big and the next decade belonged to men.
Single mothers have no research other than working and so we are going to fight just like you men did. All I can say is that;'s it's going to be interesting to see if men will give without gaining, lol, for I don't bargain as I never did when I supported men.

Single mothers.. Should quite simply not exist. Single mothers, should never have got into that position in the first place..

Single mothers.. Usually chose to be single mothers..

Single mothers.. Are a problem created by.. Single mothers..

And as long as the state encourages their creation and existence.. They will remain a problem.. As they always have been for all societies..

There is no easy answer to the problem, well, there maybe is, but the range of "inhumane" and oppressive solutions will not meet with much approval..

But for sure, this statist crap and sticking them in work (which is a common idiotic idea that costs more than just paying the mothers to raise the kids!).. Is a bad un..
