MRA : Skills and Services Directory

In a 'chat' conversation with a fellow AM member, the idea of an MRA/MRG Resourses Directory was discussed.
This directory would be available for AM members to volunteer, preferablly free of charge, any specific skills or services they have to offer that might be of use to AM members and the Men's Movement.
I think this would be a great asset and could be utilised by groups and activists to good effect.

For example, my friend in the AM chat room wanted help with creating sprites for use in a story-based computer game highlighting misandry in mordern society.
I have a background in design and have some knowledge of flash animation, so I have offered to help.

I personally would like some advise on how to get my website up and running!
I would be great if I could request help (via the AM Private Messages service) from a fellow member with 'advertised' skills or knowledge relevant to my needs.

What do you reckon?

Hmm, do-able! Very do-able.

Sounds like you're suggesting a kind of 'free craiglist' for services only, or something along those lines.

Sounds like an excellent idea.

There's a wealth of skills and invaluable experience on the forum that could be utilized in key areas which progresses the concerns of men.

Anything to do with word-smithing, I'm your man.

Editing , copy writing, you name it.

If you need to put something into words, or need a look-see to improve your own words (spelling,. grammar, style, etc), I can surely be of assistance.

Need to make a speech? Maybe I can write the whole thing!

I like the idea, MP. Any such directory ought to be in an area inaccessible to outsiders but 'sent' by pm on request.

It ought to be collated by an interested member who keeps it 'secure'.
We have lurkers here; some are friendly but some are anything but. They gather information on members to smear them.

It will need to be 'pro-actively' collected by asking people individually. Nudging them.

What we need as well - again by a good researcher/collater - is a directory of MRM output. Videos, pods, writngs, essays, etc. And a list of friendly journos, radio stations, men's groups etc.

I did suggest this in my 'Vision Plan' for MND when I was the Chairman. Mike LaSalle liked the idea but 'you know who' rejected it out of hand simply because I had suggested it and he hadn't.

I should add:

I am no slouch in the graphic design line, with Photoshop, Freehand and the like.

I can cobble together a website.

I can turn out a fair podcast.

I am not altogether clueless re: Flash.

I have reading comprehension of languages other than English.

Uh...what else, what else. . .?
