In my opinion it depends on the type of employee and the nature of the offense. Let's say I own a mechanic shop and I just hired you last week. A customer comes to me to complain that you insulted her. As your boss, I'm going to decide if I think her complaint has merit or not. If you made some innocent, off-hand remark and I think the customer is just being hysterical, I'll apologize to her, make you apologize to her, give her a free oil change, and that'll be the end of it.

But if you were trying to pick her up, you ass is toast. You're fired right there on the spot. How can you be that stupid?

Now on the other hand, if you've been working for me for a long time, I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt no matter what. I'm going to tell you that you were stupid, and that you'd better not do it again.
I agree, the nature of the offense should be taken into account, as well as the history of the employee (maybe or maybe not, there is a history of offenses). If there's a history, the employee might not be very valuable to the company. If an employee causes the company to lose business, particularly repeatedly, it's definitely something to take into account.

It's a video of a guy in traffic court flirting with the judge. Be sure to watch all the way to the end. The guy has balls, I'll give him that.

Hehe, flirting with the judge is pretty stupid.

I had a former work colleague many years ago (this was back in the mid 90s) who was invited to leave for getting involved with a (married) client. As lawyers, that's pretty much a no-no -- that is, it's not considered consistent with codes of professional responsibility to get involved with a client, because it can blur your judgment in terms of providing objective legal advice. She was unhappy, but there wasn't really anything she could do, because that's considered per se against the professional responsibility rules, from the perspective of the bar association. She wasn't disciplined professionally, but she did lose her job over it.

Yes, but this is not the correct way it should be done, but better than nothing...

If correctly done, motor should be washed out by flush oil, and motor-oil-filter and gasket should be changed.

It's not that easy, especially if you have no fitting tool to take out the motoroil-filter and if you cannot lift up the car.
I am well aware of that. I have pulled engines out of cars, stripped motorbikes down to their frame, changed brake pads and changed the oil too often to remember..

The object was to demonstrate that it really is not that difficult..

I must confess though that I will not be laying a hand on my latest vehicle.

But it's just so cheap to get someone else to do it. I suppose I'd have a go if I lived on a remote dusty farm and it needed doing every couple of months.

A jack may be of some use. But what you really need to couple with a talk-wench, is a ring-spanner.
