Length of some comments
I just would like to inform a few people about the length of some of their comments.
Is there anyway that some of your comments can be shortened a bit?
I find that comments that are reminiscent of the beginning of a novel, that i just go past them and do not bother reading them.
Some are to long and drawn out for something that can be said in one paragraph.
Of course there are some comments that need the length to explain an opinion but when they are nothing more than a lengthy opinion to show off writing skill's,i generally just go past them and pay no heed to the writing skills whatsoever.
Just my opinion,thanks.

Re: Length of some comments
Well said Outdoors. I totally agree, some comments are way too long. I try to keep mine short and sweet.
OK, sometimes things cannot be said in a condensed form, but when we can say, we should keep comment short, as so often things go off-topic!The greatest enemy of the truth is very often not the deliberate lie - but the persistent, persuasive and unrealistic myth that the lie creates

Re: Length of some comments
Depends how often we can get online.
Sometimes, logging in gives little of interest. Sometimes there's an interesting point to respond to.
Occasionally we find that, while we've been away for a mere 48 hours, a thread has grown to several pages and personal insults are being thrown around like confetti.
What's a man to do?
BTW I'm keeping this short!

Oh I know what you mean LOL, especially when you see walls of texts from cerebral exhibitionists.

What you must understand Outdoors is that the fundamental meaning behind the exasperation of opinionated matters may simply transcend the realms of human combustion, becoming a mere imitation of the very fabric we consider life on earth. I hope I made this clear for you.

Husband : "How about the ones like mine?"
Wife : "Those they gave away."
Husband : "I had a dream too...I dreamt they were auctioning off pussy. The pretty ones went for a thousand dollars, and the little tight ones went for two thousand."
Wife : "And how much for the ones like mine?"
Husband : "That's where they held the auction."

Re: Length of some comments
Damn, I was choosing between either a very drawn-out, verbose post, or a very brief one; both jokes have been made, however. I don't mind long posts, as long as they're paragraphed.

Re: Length of some comments
I agree, I just don't have the patience I used to have so if there is nothing but novels to read, I don't read at all. Doesn't matter though, I am not here that much but I thought I would throw my opinion out there anyway.

Speaking for myself, of course.
NoYour loss. Try Twitter.Of course there are some comments that need the length to explain an opinion but when they are nothing more than a lengthy opinion to show off writing skill's,i generally just go past them and pay no heed to the writing skills whatsoever.
I use "big words" sometimes.
They can supplant entire paragraphs if contextualized.
Maybe even inspire further exploration.
Alas, they're wasted more often than not.
Sometimes, only a lengthy thrashing will do in addressing sophist theory, or other misguided pursuits.
I WILL continue to refrain from lengthy reprints, veiled as supporting citations.Last edited by CaptDMO; 4th-December-2011 at 04:53 PM. Reason: Aaaaa...hanging tag
