Korea: 90% of Teachers Back Quota for Male Teachers
Article here. I've lived in Korea for almost 10 years, and here is one reason why. Thank goodness there are still some countries where common sense still applies. Excerpt:
'Nearly 90 percent of Korean elementary and secondary school teachers in a selective survey said schools should establish a quota for male teachers to correct the gender imbalance. The Korean Federation of Teachers' Associations (KFTA) surveyed a total of 549 teachers; 433 males and 116 females across the nation between July 3 and 6. Most of the respondents replied that they face some problems in teaching and counseling students due to the lack of male teachers.
...
A total of 89.3 percent said schools need to set up a quota for male teachers to keep the ratio of female teachers from exceeding more than 70 percent. It marks a sharp increase from 62.8 percent in 2007 survey.
Of the female respondents, 73.3 percent expressed concern that the dominance of female teachers could cause lack of role models for male students. Nearly 78 percent of female teachers backed the introduction of steps to resolve the gender imbalance.'

Re: Korea: 90% of Teachers Back Quota for Male Teachers
Here are some of comments about the article. Frightening!!!!
hitest (122.153.254.2) 07-08-2009 15:56 This presumes, the male teachers will be positive role models, and that male students will undergo an identity crises unless someone with a penis teaches them math. Ridiculous. This will simply displace good female teachers: perhaps another attempt to keep them "home where they belong" ?englishgeenie (210.180.137.129) 07-08-2009 14:38 ass 17, it is ridgid preconceptions like yours that hamstring the krean education system. Research shows exactly the opposite of what you say to be true.jimbo1a (59.20.215.239) 07-08-2009 12:36 What children don't need is overweight accused pedophiles like assholologist teaching them.toolbox (124.80.22.64) 07-08-2009 09:28 More male teachers means they'll be shagging your beautiful Joseon women PK2. Type O baby!
BTW, Zuberi, who wrote that he has lived in Korea for 10 years?
Also, note this quote from the article:
Women's groups oppose the quota for male teachers, claiming it is gender discrimination and it may lower the quality of teachers.
Do those same "women's groups" complain about the fact that all Korean men have to serve a compulsory 2 years in the military, which gives women a two-year's head start on their careers? Women are exempt from this. How's that for "gender discrimination"?"Rights for women and responsibilities for men is really license for women, slavery for men, and liberty for neither. I emailed this thread to the writer of the article. Kang Shin-who. His address is kswho@koreatimes.co.kr. Let's show support for any counter-propaganda we come across. I know it's only 'arm chair activism', but a note of thanks and an invite to check us out is always a good thing.

Re: Korea: 90% of Teachers Back Quota for Male Teachers
Wrong! It's female teachers that commit the majority of sexual improprieties with students, then male teachers.
How is it gender discrimination? It's only discriminating against male teachers given the underrepresentation of them! Unbelievable, even when it's blatant that men are being discriminated against, feminists mechanically screech discrimination irregardless of facts. Also, note this quote from the article:
Women's groups oppose the quota for male teachers, claiming it is gender discrimination and it may lower the quality of teachers.
Also, by stating that an infusion of male teachers 'may' lower the quality of teachers is clearly sexist and chauvinistic (assuming that female teachers are inherently better). The wicked flee when none pursueth. Proverbs 28:1

Re: Korea: 90% of Teachers Back Quota for Male Teachers
I noted in another thread that there is a definite feminist agenda to dominate education at all levels. I am not being paranoid here I am stating a readily observable fact. Male teachers are routinely targeted for mobbing by their colleagues and are always passed up in favor of females for employment.
The goal is to limit access of quality education to boys and to indoctrinate everyone who sits down in a school chair to believe that all men are bad and that if you are a man you need special feminist training to keep from being a rapist.
Feminism is motivated by two things: 1. Hatred of men 2. The bogus victimization of all women in order to ensure a special status in which they have all the rights and privileges yet none of the accountability. This is the compass that they all follow and teach others to navigate by. It is little wonder why there are so many mangyas out there (especially under the age of 40) who spout their lies and bigotries. They have simply been conditioned to do so since childhood at school.Do not ever suppose that a small group of people can never change the world. INDEED it is the only thing that ever has.

Re: Korea: 90% of Teachers Back Quota for Male Teachers
Id disagrre that feminists hate men other than as a byproduct of their direct hatred of the natural biological family.. True, they don't particularly LIKE men, but they certainly need thier "poodle boys" and manginas to uphold their stupid social engineering experiment..
Of course, a central plank of their methods is the domination of the education process..
No doubt they want to remove all traces of testosterone wherever they see it..
Then again, we have to accept that education, especially in younger kids, is something that women naturally gravitate towards more than men do, so I guess it will be expected to see more women here..
My argument with the statists quoted is that they are ridiculously misleading in their conclusion..
Fact is, it can easily be seen that such a conclusion is statistical bullshine of the classic type..

Re: Korea: 90% of Teachers Back Quota for Male Teachers
If only it was just paranoia.
Feminists aggressively expanded the war against men to include boys decades ago. Ever since, education curriculums have been devised to 'deliberately' undermine the aspirations of boys. Long since have girls surpassed boys. It's nothing short of state imposed misandry and child abuse enacted on a biblical scale throughout the western world!
This systemic 'state-sponsored' conspiracy has become blatantly evident to those within the education system. And, all those who fail to speak out or do something are equally culpable whether they describe themselves as feminists or not.
I can understand feminsms hatred of men (although not except), but to allow this evilness to be imposed on boys never fails to leave me astonished how so many millions of teachers (mostly women) who don't necessarily associate with feminism, but obediently go along with this madness without question.Last edited by Celtic Druid; 9th-July-2009 at 07:07 PM.

Re: Korea: 90% of Teachers Back Quota for Male Teachers
Oh yes, the standard problem with statistics is that they often take a sample that is completely un-representative of the whole and try to pretent that this is a reflection of the whole.. As in this case..
There are many flaws in statistics.. Thats why I dont regard them as meaning much in themselves..
I remember seeing a study that stated that over 90% of airplane crash fatalities had consumed non-organically farmed food products in the previous 24 hours..
The conclusions are obvious of course..
If you dont want to die in an airplane crash, eat organic food only!!

Re: Korea: 90% of Teachers Back Quota for Male Teachers
So are you guys saying you'd support affirmative action as long as it benefits your particular gender?
I know I'm being provocative in asking this...but I know some of you are strongly against affirmative action.
What are the pros and cons?
Personally, I'd like to see the gender imbalance corrected....but I've never been a big fan of affirmative action.
What do you think?
