Interesting old news article - feminist denies there are any false rape accusations

Was reading an old article onfasle rape allegatiosn and the issue of setting up a register of false accusers (an absolutely brilliant idea)

Some really telling quotes in there, particularly from an organisition called "Rights of Women"

"Given that the law is already so weighted against women, we should be looking at protecting them rather than targeting the few, if any, women who make false allegations. It's outrageous"

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/412892.stm

The bad news is that incredibly, the organisation somehow seems to be still in business. With bullshit like that they shoudl have closed down long ago.

No surprise there, John. It's the use of subtle language, as demonstrated by your quote above, that really has an affect on people's judgements. They could be soon sat on a jury, asking themselves "although it seems like she is falsely accusing this chap... I know I read recently that hardly any, if any, women ever make false accusations..."

The most offensive thing you can do to a feminist is treat her with FULL equality.

Here's a rather brilliant line from the article:

"They said it was hard to see how such a register could separate malicious and false allegations from cases where there simply was not enough evidence to proceed"

that's like saying it's hard to separate rape cases from those where sex was consensual. Indeed it isn't always easy, but it still has to be done doesn't it? Just like with false allegations it's actually very easy to do in the more obvious cases

Statistics aside, the idea that women make false rape allegations makes sense from a motive standpoint. It's an easy, low risk way to destroy someone's life. People (especially lovers) are motivated all the time to destroy other people's lives, why should this issue be any different?

Perhaps the issue with some feminists is that they believe women do not have it in them to want to destroy someone's life.
