Jesus was not born on Christmas Day, and no Biblical scholar or historian will contend that he was. While it has long been recognized that Christmas has roots in winter solstice celebrations and the return of the Sun (Son). Christ's true birthday has remained a mystery (to the public) until now.

Jesus was born on March 1, 7 BCE at 1:21 AM in Bethlehem, Judea.

Jesus has the Sun and Moon, plus four the known other planets (and Uranus) in Pisces, with Sagittarius as the Ascendant. Neptune, the planet astrologers associate with spirituality, is powerfully placed -- Trine -- the Pisces planets; it also adds an aura of mystique or mystery. Pluto, an indicator of purposefulness and personal power is opposite the stellium in Pisces. It promises an awareness life, death and rebirth. Plutonian principles include transformation, transubstantiation and transfiguration.

Influencing women by indirect means?
The devil does plenty of that!

Under the guidance of my psych professor (social psych class) I and two gentleman conducted an experiment in "helping behavior" on campus. Our hypothesis: men would be more likely to help women in need than women helping men in need, and overall men would exhibit more direct helping behavior.

Our experiment was simple: we had a large bag full of pens and pencils (240 in all), and at different busy points on campus, one of us would "accidentally" drop the bag of pens, spilling them all over the ground. The other two participants would be observing and recording who stopped to help pick them up (males or females), how long it took to get help, and what the environment was like (how many people were walking through at the given moment.) We would take turns being the pens-dropper to see if the outcomes would be different had the person needing help be male or female.

It was quite interesting and very entertaining I must say!

We didn't get the results we were expecting. Women were just as likely to stop and help pick up the pens as men were. We found that dropping them in busy areas with lots of people yielded less help than dropping them in the presence of one or two people. Gender didn't seem to make a difference one way or the other. There was a guy who walked right past me while I was picking up the pens, didn't even look back. On the other hand, there was a girl who walked right past my friend while he was picking up pens, and she didn't look twice or slow down at all. I guess there are self-absorbed people of both sexes!

What was funny...one of my co-experimenters (who's turn it was to drop the bag of pens) decided (on our last try) to drop them in the main pub area (this is where everyone gathers to eat, study, talk, socialize). There are lots of tables, and at any given time there are lots of people at the tables. Anyway, he dropped the pens, and they rolled and scattered everywhere. I was across the room taking notes. The pens rolled under several different tables...it was hilarious! A couple of students (mixed genders) helped pick them up...but there was this one Asian guy who, bending down to pick up pens looked my co-experimenter right in the eye and said matter-of-factly, "I see you do this outside. I see you drop pens before. I help you this time, but I not help you again."

I found it hard to contain my laughter. He was on to us. But he helped anyway. What a guy!

Friggin' psych students, manipulating people to do useless things.

Huckelberry Finn at least put his manipulating to good use, getting the friggin' fence painted.

Damn good idea. I live in a university town - La Trobe Uni, in fact, which boasts among it's faculty one Michael Flood. Seems a good time to visit the local campus may be in about six or seven weeks when all the newbies are around and the femmies are out in force trying to scare all the new young women.
