I'm thinking of doing a blog/forum so what do I need to do and when should I set up where I'm not going to be cencored or taken down for speaking my mind and where can I do this for free and can any of you help me set up one?

The above two statements are incompatible with each other. If you want to avoid being censored, you must pay. I recommend Host4Web.com, which has a $5.00/mo. plan which includes an Internet forum already pre-installed. You should register your own domain name too, which costs less than $10/year.

Oh ok then how do I register my own domain name then?

Step 1: Check and see if the domain name that you have in mind is already taken by someone else.

Go to GoDaddy.com:
http://www.godaddy.com/

Click in the field for "Start a Domain Name search." Enter the domain name that you wish to register. The drop-down menu to the right of the field should contain the portion of the domain name including the .com, .org, .net or whatever. If the domain name is available for purchase, don't buy it yet; you need to sign up for a Web hosting account first.

Step 2: Sign up for a Web hosting account

A Web host is a company that owns the actual server that your Web site or blog will be stored on. I recommend Host4Web.com as a Web host, but any Web host will do. Another good host is LFCHosting.com. Anyway, while signing up at the host, they'll probably ask for the domain name that you will be using. They may offer to register the domain for you, but don't let them because they'll be the domain name owner if they do. Just tell them that you already own the domain name. At a certain point, they'll give you their domain name servers (either during sign up, or they'll e-mail this information to you). These nameservers are really important; watch for them and copy them down when you identify them. For example, the following are the nameservers that I was given for my Web site by HostForWeb.com:
NS41.HOSTFORWEB.NET
NS42.HOSTFORWEB.NET

Step 3: Sign up for the domain name.

Once you have completed signing up for your Web hosting account, go to GoDaddy.com again. Sign up for the domain name that you entered earlier. When they ask for the nameservers for that domain, enter the nameservers that your Web host gave you (described in Step 2 above).

Once you've completed signing up for the domain name, it will take 24-48 hours for it to become active as it propogates throughout the Web. Once it is finished propagating, you will have a working Web site.

Step 4: Configure your Blog or Forum through your new Web hosting account.

Log in to your Web host's control panel (which they should tell you how to do in an e-mail after you sign up for your hosting account), and set up the forum. If you need help with this step, I can help you (I'm a professional Web designer). If they're willing, I think that Marx or TMOTS can also be of help.

Blogspot is pretty tolerant, but you're still subject to being dinged if enough people petition, I think. It's all discretionary, so it depends on how much attention you attract, really.

Agreed. If you want immunity you can count on, you need to buy it. I chose a more traditional website because I find blogs are often cumbersome to navigate and so uniform in the way they look that there is little to distinquish one from another.

Your own website has the added costs of development, but you can tailor it more to fit the look you want and it has absolute immunity from censorship.

Your mind is not the only thing that readers see. It is taken as representative of the MRM. As such it needs to present itself in a manner that relects well on the MRM and men in general.

I have lots of free cash, more than sufficient to create a super-duper website forum and keyboard warriors paradise..

However, until I have something significant to say or a point to progress that cannot be achieved on the existing facilities provided by others for free, I shall keep my hands on my cash or use it for other more direct matters that assist the movement.

Here on AM we have blogging facilities if needed..

I am sure the levels of censorship etc are not too painful for most folk..

(Btw, NOWHERE on the internet allows "free speach", dont delude yourself!)

Just stuff marx a few greens now and then in appreciation for the services and I am sure you will get a good audience..

I google regularly and it is amazing how often this site comes up first page..

Yes, its strange, but if I want to, say, google some concept I am thinking of, or a phrase I want to know has been used before so I can use it myself with confidence, I just type it into google and hey presto! If it is in anyway mrm related, it will often come up with a load of links to threads off this site..

I always keep a browser window open for googling on the fly, thats a good way of checking out meanings for long words etc, as well as finding instantly related articles, supporting research etc..

It often makes me realise what a small world it is (and how bad my memory is!) when many of the links to AM are stuff I wrote myself!

I just think, "what the fuck is that looney on about?" Then I see my id next to it!!

Anyway, bugger me backwards! It works like a dream!

Why on earth would that produce a google link to AM? Indeed, I did not think it would, I thought I would have to test a few more phrases out till i got a hit.. But, no, even such a vague one as that pulls in a link to a post made by Luke Skywalker.. here.. About 4 down from the top!!
