How was your Labor Day Weekend? What did you do?

Hope everyone enjoyed their extended weekend. Anyone do anything worthwhile?

Here was my weekend.

Drove out to a huge lake with a campground in Indiana to meet up with a friend and some of his friends and their families. This wasn't the type of camping I'm used to. There were electrical hook-ups at the camp sites and my friend brought a stereo and TV and DVD player so we could listen to musuc and watch movies. I had my fill of brats and metts, but the we had real meals the last two nights. The night before last I had a ribeye steak, fried potatoes, and corn roasted over the fire. Last night, we took all the leftover steaks (2 ribeyes and 3 strips) and one of the families we were with, who are Mexiacan, made 3 types of taco fillings and homeade salsa and guacamole and we made more tacos than any of us could eat (we gave the leftovers to our camp neighbors and they said they were the best they'd ever eaten. With the tacos I had rum and coke, but made with Mexican Coca-Cola which uses sugar instead of corn syrup, and, I have to say, it really made the difference. It tasted way better than any rum and coke I'd had before. We had a small speedboat and we went out into the lake and put the life preservers on like diapers so we could float and drink beer. This morning, after we packed up, I lit a smoke, opened a Mexican coke, and sipped the best moonshine I'd ever tasted. It was so damn smooth.

Well, that was my weekend. It was a nice break and gave me a chance to clear my head. I got a little sunburned and sliced my thumb, but no biggie. A new term starts up tomorrow so it's back to classes and back to the grind.

Well I don't think we do labor day here in England... but I spent some of my day arguing with the hex who insists on putting me down as the fifth person on our daughter's list of contacts in emergencies for her new school. Apparently, not owning a car is a good enough excuse for her to determine that her choice in friends need to be notified of situations before the child's own father. Yes indeed. You couldn't make it up.

Indeed. I voiced my concerns about her hate campaign (she does things like this on a regular basis in efforts to marginalize my relationship to 'our' children). Her response was to cry down the phone "Waah, I don't need you fuckin' shit tonight... not tonight... waaaaah" then promptly slammed the phone down. Yes, she was effing & all sorts with the kids in earshot.

I went shopping and got treated like crap by a female customer, over something that she didn't have butt into.

I also got dinner with my mom, and made myself feel better by watching Comedy Central roasts.

Super. One more case and point where "she" makes the decision to fuck up a childhood before the system gets a chance to.

Sorry big guy, I feel your pain though, a while back if my ex wife were to die, custody of my daughter would go to her parents and not me.

Go figure.

As for the holiday weekend. Beer, beach, beer, barbecue, beer, more meat, beer, fishing, beer, leftover barbecue, beer, nasty ass sunburn, beer, sleep.

That was Sunday, today I had a few beers and played a bit of softball.

I hear the David Hasselhoff roast was hilarious but haven't gotten a chance to watch it yet.
