There are plans to probably celebrate International Men's Day on 5th April in the Uk and Ireland. But there is nothing definite as yet.

However, I will celebrate IMD unofficially this Saturday for the first time. What about MRAs in countries that don't already have an IMD celebration trying to campaign to celebrate it on the same date that the UK and Ireland will (hopefully) mark the occasion?

IMD will be outlawed as sexist, harassing and uncalled for if not totally inappropriate

I will celebrate unofficially too. It's the first I've heard of this.

Shaazam, let's hope not. I think the day has a lot of potential.

I myself have also only known about the existence of IMD for less than a month (although I notice that the day was discussed here at Antimisandry quite a long time ago). Unfortunately there was not much time to do a lot to raise awareness of the day. I have emailed some politicians, asking them to consider supporting the event or to table an early day motion about the issue; also I had an article about the day published in a local free newspaper; I blogged a bit about it, and assisted a (potential) MRA in asking Impact UK to support the day.
