Get this-Now they say women work more because they also do "emotional housework"

You can read about this study here. In short, they found out that

In rich northern countries on four continents, including the United States, there is no difference -- men and women do the same amount of total work.
But of course, we can't have this - women actually not being portrayed as victims, no siree. So here's their first lame excuse:

And many are sceptical about the research. Anna Thorburn from Global Women's Strike, a body campaigning for greater recognition of the work women do, says it doesn't recognise how women work. For instance it ignores what she calls 'emotional housework'.

"It's the organising and planning and maintaining of relationships that women do. When men stop working they switch off. Women are constantly on the go, juggling things to keep things going."
    Source here.

Emotional Housework.... EMOTIONAL HOUSEWORK?!?!?!?!?!!?!??!?! Damn it, you stronyg womyn. You are really becoming so obviously desperate in your lame attempts to play the victim all the time, it's beyond pathetic.

Really, I don't know whether to laugh at this or what. It's... I don't even have the words for it. But I definitely think it's yet another nice example of them having no real issues to address - so they just come up with something, so they legitimize their existence. Remember, no more housework gap = no more Thorburn's Global Women's Strike.

Emotional housework = organizing and planning and maintaining of relationships... And that's why this study is flawed, because it didn't take this laborious load on female shoulders into account. For god's sake, will they ever stop wallowing in victimhood??????

Then in my marriage, I certainly worked considerably more hours than my wife. Where's my compensation?

LOL what a load of bullshit.

Again the mythological "strong women" need to act like victims.

Well, Karl, first you have to prove it. If you manage to do that, I myself will pay you for it.

I'll chip in too.lol As a man who stays at home I have noticed that maintaining a house isn't as hard as femmes claim boring yes hard no. Plus I still do the yardwork and vehicle repair. But according to femmes that isn't work!

The mind boggles as to how such morally redundant ideologically-driven charlatans maintain a straight face, whilst selling such horse-shit as being remotely academically valid.

You betcha there's the "planning" women do in relationships, and the demanding, whinging, controlling, manipulating, threatening and general precontrived connivance women religiously engage in whilst their boyfriend/husband YES! just wants to switch off. For a woman to adopt the same approach, means a period of time she hasn't been effecting her control and influence over her man.

Emotional housework? Yet another gynocentric absurdity of selective subjectiveness, it's terminology is meaningless in it's "attempted authenticity," as always, the application of such a laughable definition remains confined to a specific membership of a chromosome configuration.

It's devolved into this now has it?

Women merely thinking is now deemed as work?

"Emotional housework = organizing and planning and maintaining of relationships.."

NOTE closely, gentlemen, how all of these words are camouflage and dissembling for CONTROL strategies.

Always interrogate the unspoken assumptions behind feminists' words.

The WOMAN organizes. (Her husband is incapable...)
The WOMAN plans. (Her cohabiting partner is incompetent...)
The WOMAN maintains relationships. (Her lover is an appliance needing to be "maintained.")

This is some very sick, psychotic -- if typical -- feminist shite.

Endorsed by 99.99% of all "I'm not like them" non-feminist females.

I really, really wish I was wrong.

I should have re-read Celtic Druid's post more closely....

He introduced the "control" theme with greater insight than I did above.

Twisted? Maybe. Ok, probably! But hey, who's defining twisted?

Socially aware? Most definitely, extremely so!

Compelled to affect change that benefits the "underrepresented" social/political lot of men? Absolutely.

Historically - it's been the "percieved twisted minds" that have positively shaped history itself.

Hehe, Karl, don't worry, I know I'll have to start with contributing for this first, I haven't forgot. My point was - how does one even prove how much emotional housework one did? You just take their word for it? In other words, how can Thorburn say women do more housework, because they also do emotional housework? How does she know men don't do it also, or - how much men do it? How does she measure this? Bah, like I said, just another pathetic nebulous concept some stronyg womyn pulled out of her arse to be able to continue playing Teh Victim.

Robert R. asked -- "how does one even prove how much emotional housework one did?"

I believe men could emulate several sophisticated female strategies for expressing emotion:

Strategy #1 - Cry when you are taking out the garbage.

Strategy # 2 - Refuse to speak even a single word for two weeks while you take out the garbage, and glare menancingly whenever you make eye contact with your soulmate.

Strategy # 3 - Do not make eye contact, ever, but keep taking out the garbage.

Strategy # 4 - Have a heart attack while you are taking out the garbage.

Strategy # 5 - Call your mother on the phone and scream loudly about how much you want a divorce, while taking out the garbage.

Of course, the ultimate strategy is to weep uncontrollably and confess to her that she's never made you have an orgasm ....

You have been faking it... ;-)

    Exactly.
I still can't understand why anyone listens to people like that even after they spout such utter crap as 'emotional housework'.
    :???:

BTW, one gem of a comment on the Daily Mail website about the same article:
I have long said the feminist argument that women are or have been hard done by is a load of tosh. I challenge any woman to go and work a 12 hour shift in the conditions men used to work down the mines (when women were apparently 'slaving' away in the home whilst their husbands apparently had it easy!). The same goes for today all warps of life have their ups and downs. Feminism is simply a theory of 'the grass is greener on the other side' and is an insult to the hard work men have put into families and civilisations over the centuries.

Major Tom cited a news piece - "I have long said the feminist argument that women are or have been hard done by is a load of tosh."

Well, women live longer than men, and so inherit and control the majority of wealth.

They need to talk 40,000 words per day just to feel normal. Hence, cell phones. (men only require 400 words... after which, they want to be left alone to think instead of chat...)

In Fem-America, women have over 300 state and federally-funded commissions that safeguard women's interests and lobby for ever-greater legal dominance --- ooops! --- "Equality!"

Men have one unfunded NH commission, zero men's' health departments, zero men's domestic violence shelters, etc. etc.

When was the last time you read about a woman coal miner being killed in a mineshaft?

How many women have died in actual combat in Iraq? (You can use one hand to do the math..)

It is interesting that the oppressive, patriarchal gender on this planet -- the evil male rapists and sexist perpetrators of violence against women ...

have created a civilization dedicated to serving and protecting women, even at the cost of millions of innocent men's lives.

It is a virus called CHIVALRY.

85% of all retail space is dedicated to selling women what they "want."

We are becoming a planet dedicated to serving parasites...

Organisms that consume 400% more than they produce.

And eventually, they are complicit in the demise of their host.

Of course, they will move on....

and continue to harvest what's left of masculinity.
