It looks very much like we have been successful in getting gender neutral language into the reauthorization of VAWA. This is a major accomplishment and I would like to tip my hat to David Burroughs for his efforts and leadership in making this happen. Here is the included language:

`In this part, and in any other Act of Congress, unless the context unequivocally requires otherwise, a provision authorizing or requiring the Department of Justice to make grants, or to carry out other activities, for assistance to victims of domestic violence, dating violence, stalking, sexual assault, or trafficking in persons, shall be construed to cover grants that provide assistance to female victims, male victims, or both.
The following was written by David and is also now a part of the final legislation. This is very important for us since it requires the GAO to do a study on VAWA and requires the shelters and services around the country to track usage and services by sex. This will likely show us how infrequently men are being served. Importantly it disallows the utilization of crime statistics which has been traditionally used by the fems to obfuscate and mislead.

(a) Study Required- The Comptroller General shall conduct a study to establish the extent to which men, women, youth, and children are victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking and the availability to all victims of shelter, counseling, legal representation, and other services commonly provided to victims of domestic violence.
(b) Activities Under Study- In conducting the study, the following shall apply:
(1) CRIME STATISTICS- The Comptroller General shall not rely only on crime statistics, but may also use existing research available, including public health studies and academic studies.
(2) SURVEY- The Comptroller General shall survey the Department of Justice, as well as any recipients of Federal funding for any purpose or an appropriate sampling of recipients, to determine--
(A) what services are provided to victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking;
(B) whether those services are made available to youth, child, female, and male victims; and
(C) the number, age, and gender of victims receiving each available service.
(c) Report- Not later than 1 year after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Comptroller General shall submit to Congress a report on the activities carried out under this section.
This is a good step forward and we need now to follow it up with plenty more work. Good job!

I honestly have to say I'm in agreement with you, but in the meantime, I'm hoping this at least gives honest people the tools to stop the egregious lying that gender feminists have been doing about domestic violence. I remember an article about a Florida couple who got government money over many, many years for running a battered women's shelter. After many years, it was discovered that they didn't have ANY shelter, but the secrecy around shelters (some don't even allow male auditors in) helped them with their fraud.
I also remember that a female journalist tried to pose as a battered woman to do a report about shelters. At first, they told her everything was full to overflowing, so they didn't have any space for her. She kept battering away at them, and finally they told her she could enter the (government-supported) shelter. She said that hardly anyone was there.
And then we get to the questions about why a shelter-worker is suddenly driving a Lexus, when before she only had an old VW Minibus, but that may fall under the question of what happens with government money.

Of course we would all like to see it disappear. You can't stop a runaway freight train by snapping your fingers. We needed this to start the process of slowing it down. This is an important first step. There is more planned. We are on our way.

All the differences between the House and Senate Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) bills have been resolved and the final VAWA is ready to be passed by Congress TODAY. The Senate needs to pass it this afternoon so that it can be passed by the House before they recess on Saturday for the rest of the year!
VAWA includes a comprehensive package of grant programs and policy improvements to help END domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, rape and stalking.
What can you do?
Call the offices of the House and Senate leadership with this simple message: Please make sure that VAWA 2005 gets passed before you adjourn for this year. We must not allow services to be reduced and programs eliminated. Women, children and families are relying on you.

Call your own Senators and Representative and leave the simple message: Please support the Violence Against Women Act and do not adjourn until it is passed. Use the U.S. Capitol Switchboard at (202) 224-3121 or call your Representative's office and Senators' offices directly.
Send an email to your Senators and Representative asking them to help expedite this process. All Members of Congress can be helpful. Even if they have promised to support VAWA, they need to hear from you again. Thank you for all of your important work to stop the violence.

I'm almost immune to it; seeing men being blamed incessently for everything, seeing women's opinions and concerns elevated whilst ours are buried, seeing a man like Michael Buerk suggest feminism has damaged to society and getting lynched and derided for it...it is, first and foremost, annoying, but it's just getting so tiresome. When I'm stuck for ideas for my blog or an article on a forum, all I have to do is browse around a news-site (especially the BBC) and invariably I find some article that either derides men, blames us for something or just mocks us in general.
I think the primary difference between people like us - anti-feminists, MRAs, or whatever we could classify ourselves as - and other men is that we just choose to consciously choose to pick up on the anti-male hypocrisy and lies that infest our culture, whilst other men just ignore it, probably out of being so used to it.
Our mission is to get other men to pay attention. They are mostly aware of the anti-male bias in the western world, but we just need to shake them a bit and say "this is not acceptable, make a fuss like us! Kick dike arse!"

i pretty much grew up hearing 'all men are bastards' (or other over-used term) and i have to admit, for a young boy, it DOES give a sense of insecurity to your identity. I often would read women's mags in Dr's offices and at home, complaining about men - instructing women on how to change their men and all that. It was reinforced quite heavily in my youth that "MEN ARE BAD/WRONG/EVIL/STUPID" in the form of my Mother's frequent rantings or magazines & articles. Without hitting on my personal history too much, i was discussing with my MIL (who happens to be a therapist) some of my history and we hit upon a very possible second reason as to why i'm anti-feminist. It's possible that i grew up seeing the hypocrisy and that i - unlike a lot of men - CAN SEE that women are NOT these perfect creatures or perpetual victims, as feminists seem to insist.
