I just finished Garak's thread in which I agree with him that TV sucks. What happens next? I overhear an ad for a show on the G4 cable network titled "Cheaters". Out of curiosity, I turned away from my computer and watched the following program format ...

Apparently, the crew of "Cheaters" follow the significant other of some guy or gal that complains to them. They virtually function as the equivalent of private investigators.

If they hit pay dirt, the crew tapes everything and shows it to the complainer. The payoff for the audience is the confrontation that
gets filmed as it happens.

The guy I watched confronted his girlfriend and her lover when they stopped at a gas station. Her responses (verbatim) were:

"How could you do this to me?!!" (repeated twenty times indignantly)

"Why didn't you just ask me ... meeee?!!" (repeated ten times)

The show's host does this for a seg-way, "Bro's before Ho's, man!"

A second guy confronts his paramour with her new boy toy. Her response?

"Whew!" Now I can go back to dating chicks!"

Garak's thread is right on the money. TV ... who needs it? Root Canal work with a rusty coat-hanger looks more desirable at this point.

This show's been around for a while. I liked the episode where the host got stabbed by a guy with a filet knife. You start hearing, "Get an ambulance, get him to the hospital." If you listen closely you could hear the producers in the background whispering, "Keep rolling!"

Nothing like taping a coworker bleeding to death to show how shallow TV has become.

Cheaters??

I have heard a lot of pathetic things about that garbage show. It baffles me to no end as to how anybody can watch that lugubrious bullshit!!!

I keep telling my wife that they will eventually end up filming a public execution. A number of people, Glenn Beck for one, have made comparisons between our time and the fall of the Roman Empire. I'm
inclined to agree with them.

Actually you're right!!!
They will start filming public executions and the victims will be Christians and anyone else that refuses the mark.

During the dark days, just after my divorce, I couldn't quit sketching a symbol. It grew a bit more complicated as time went on, but the basic design stayed the same. I already bear a mark, of Christianity.

One year after my divorce, I got that symbol tattooed on my upper bicep. It's the Ichthys, turned upright, so the nose points to the heavens. Reminding me that God is always watching over me. It also references the multiple Bible verses referring to Christians as Fishermen. At the heart of the Ichthys is the Labarum, or "Monogram of Christ". It reminds me to carry Christ in my heart always. The tail is disconnected, forming a Cross angled as though it was carried over my shoulder. It symbolizes my favorite Verses. Matthew 10:38 & 10:39.

This post is very inspirational for me. It also reminds me that feminists and Christianity are like Oil and Water. They are behind this DaVinci Code/Mary Magdalene propaganda campaign. Jesus has to have a wife, because nice Jewish boys were required to do so. Forget the Essenes, who were celibate. Also, He HAD to have a daughter ... not a son. Forget Peter and Paul or the other apostles ... the true leader was a woman. Forget about the 52-mile long Vatican Library and scholarly research spanning hundreds of years ... this author put the whole thing together. Bullchips!

As a historian, I hate the book. The "history" it promotes is so incorrect (I was looking for a more polite way of saying F'ed up) it doesn't get much right. I believe some of the geography in it and Angels and Demons is even incorrect. Sadly, most of the uneducated masses read it and mistake those "historical facts" as real.

Every page should have a disclaimer: "This is a complete fabrication by the author."

The books synopsis was interspersed with a few facts, but then the inference is promoted that the rest of the book continues in the same vein, which it clearly does not.

Stick it with the other fairy tales!

They originally tried to introduce this BS in the 1980's. What we're seeing now is a resurrection of this old canard. Maybe these are the "end times".

Is that true in your part of the world? I can hardly believe anyone here takes those books seriously, and even if, nobody would even care....ah well.

Oh I really liked Angels and Demons, good book. Sadly Dan Brown must include a "love" story in every novel he writes it seems.

The Christians who refuse to take the mark of the beast will be executed and will be in heaven for their walk with God.

Makes me think of Matthew 24:24 "For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect—if that were possible." If I remember my Revelations correctly, it's mentioned there as well.....

Whenever I hear a false representation of Christ, I think back to these.
