Breaking: Abortion provider George Tiller murdered - Feministing

Although I'm pro choice, I draw the line at partial birth abortion, of which this Miller guy carried out many. I have heard it pointed out that this fella died a much more humane death than unborn babies which died truly horrific deaths at his hands but I don't know how I feel about that.

Abortion isn't an issue I'm passionate about, and I'm not the type to ever celebrate the death of anybody. But I will celebrate the way this murder has traumatized the Feminist/Liberal community. They are beside themselves, and I am enjoying their pain.

I'm glad that Obama came out and said that this is not OK. In fact, I think he said it pretty perfectly: "However profound our differences as Americans over difficult issues such as abortion, they cannot be resolved by heinous acts of violence."
yeah, that sure settled that debate. Thanks for chiming in, Barrack.

While I don't celebrate or condone the "abortion" ("the termination ... of ... life") of this "doctor", I do not mourn it either. You reap what you sow.

Feminists see the issue of infanticide the way they see everything else: from the point of view of women and what they want. No one else matters, not men, not children.

I mourn the guy's death like I mourn the deaths of all people. I just don't like killing, period.

But I gotta say, there was some serious karma at work here. I actually read a Hindu say that while he wasn't happy about what happened, neither was he surprised that karma finally caught up with the guy.

what I think would REALLY scare the feminists is if a guy who was falsely accused of rape, aquitted, went and killed his false accuser, and then was aquitted on a technicality

I'm sorry he died - nobody deserves to have their lives take from them no matter what they do.

But, at the end of the day, what he did was wrong. I'm pro-life, strongly, it is a massive issue for me and I disagree with abortion so strongly (except in cases, of course, where having the child would cause death or significant harm to either mother or baby).

I was nearly aborted, but instead (and I have no idea how my mother did this because of herr circumstances), I was adopted, and i'm so grateful for that as I am alive and well today. I had the chance to live when I could have easily been killed.

I believe so strongly that abortion is murder and what this guy did is disgusting, but at the end of the day, he did not deserve to be killed.

Re: Feminists Rattled by Murder of Abortion Doctor

My roommate and I watched the news yesterday and we discussed it briefly. I brought up the little talked about fact that there is a whole other dimension to the abortion debate: that of gender inequality. This is not to mitigate the obviously huge moral issue of ending a pregnancy deliberately but it is important nonetheless.
Women have been given a choice-men have not. This is fundamentally unfair. They say that it takes two people to tango (make a baby). WRONG!!!!
After the conception it is the female who decides whether or not to bring the pregnancy to term. It is the female who decides whether or not to keep the baby after she gives birth. Heck, she can go to any hospital, fire department, or police station and drop off her infant if she wants to and there will be no consequences. And, this is a real kicker, she can totally exclude the father from the life of the baby and expect to receive a lifetime (18 years, and yes that is a lifetime) of child support payment. Think about it ladies, having your child virtually taken from you to be raised by someone else and having no say in their upbringing, education, or health. I have seen many men financially and emotionally destroyed by this terrible injustice and whenever I bring this up in mixed company I almost always get some comment to the effect of: "What do you mean? Women have to pay the consequence of actually having the baby and all men have to do is pay a fine!" Bullshit. Just because women go through nine months of physical stress, and to be sure it is allot of physical stress pain and considerable risk, it does not mean that women should have any more financial, emotional, or authoritative claim over the child.
Bring up the topic of paper abortions (abortions for men) at any bar or office party and you are guaranteed to receive a host of gaping mouths and blinking eyes followed by: "are you serious? I can’t believe that you would propose such a thing. I mean, you have to live up to your responsibilities!!" Again, Bullshit.
Here we are 36 years after Rowe vs. Wade and over 50,000,000 women have exorcised their right to have an unborn carved out of their bodies with a knife and when it is suggested that a young man who may not be ready for the role of father or does not want to yoke himself to a woman whom he may, heaven forbid, think is a psychopath, could sign a piece of paper disavowing himself of parenthood of the child in question and still leaving the mother the choice people are aghast.
If you read the court’s decision, and every American should, you will note that there is no language that mentions anything to the tone of "keeping laws off of the bodies of women" or anything like that. It simply states that women have the right to decide whether or not to be parents. Men should have this right if women are to have it. Plain and simple. If we are unwilling to give men the "right to choose" then we should make abortion illegal again....PERIOD!
Do not ever suppose that a small group of people can never change the world. INDEED it is the only thing that ever has.

Tiller the Killer should have been arrested for first-degree murder, put on trial, THEN executed. I'm pro-Constitution.

While I don't approve of how the shooter went about things, a part of me says "no big loss."

As a mother, I am completely against abortion. When I found out I was pregnant with my son, I was very protective of him.

Not to mention that abortion is not safe, even if it's "legal." I say if a woman dies trying to abort her baby...well, she reaped what she sowed. That's like getting shot while trying to rob someone. You asked for it.

    text from the link:
Dr. George Tiller, an outspoken advocate for abortion rights and one of the few late-term abortion providers in the country, was shot dead in church this morning.
I really wonder, what such a person, who is a specialist for late-term abortion (over 21 weeks pregnant) is doing in a Christian Church.

To shoot him was wrong, it's lynch law, a crime for itself.

However this does not mean, he - a victim of a lynch crime - was a good man during his life and that we should mourn about his final departure - I can't care less.

To consider him as a martyr? No way.

    I really like this comment.

This is an interesting thought, however I see no direct relation to abortion.

    Just another thought:

It seems women are quite unable to take care of themselves. As far as I see, most gynaecologists, who are into abortion and facing critics by pro-life supporters, are men.

At least when looking back history, who was attacked because of abortion, it seems they all were male gynaecologists.

I wonder, why abortions are not carried out by women, who are medical doctors of gynaecology. Maybe there are not enough female medical doctors of gynaecology?

Re: Feminists Rattled by Murder of Abortion Doctor

While I would never participate in murder of anyone, born or unborn, abortion doctors know exactly what they're doing. In every profession, there are shady characters who care more for what they get out of it than anything else. Lawyers have been long known for this side of humanity, and in recent years we in the USA have seen that CPAs are not all dressed in white apparel, either. While we are all sinners under God's law and deserve the same end, there are degrees of hell... some folks get it worse than others. And they have it coming.

Feminists are rattled by any person, activity or creed that gets in the way of their goal, to eliminate families and to entertain their emotions of revenge against a gender they see as evil. Abortion is murder, at any stage of preganancy, even to include the "Pill" which, according to the people who make it, prevents implantation of a fertilized egg (a baby) in the case that accidental ovulation occurs. Yes, it happens. It is still murder.

I cannot point out the abortion doctor as especially deserving of hell, but once they are there, they are sure to relive the torture inflicted on the 100 voiceless million, since 1973, at their own hands. God does not forget. The women and men who order these heartless executions are no less bloody, but that issue is not for this thread.
