this comes from the comments of a thread on Feministing, and I am posting it here because it is such a great example of
Feminist bullshit
Quote:

It is in the societal and conservative obsession with the "pure", feminine woman.
what obsession? Our culture explicitly encourages young women to be total sluts.
Quote:
It is in the notion that women who are sex workers are somehow dehumanized.
Feminist themselves promote this notion more than anybody. Pop culture tries to paint whores as being large and in charge.
Quote:
It is in the beauty and fashion industry that tell women the most important thing they can do is look pretty.
Then tell women to stop patronizing it. This has nothing to do with men. If women aren't acting manly enough for you, your problem is with them. Us guys don't want to fucking here about it.

It is in the spate of domestic violence and murder-suicides of jealous men killing their wives, ex wives or girlfriends, and the broader disparity of domestic violence that is underneath that.
First of all, murders amongst intimate partners is statistically fairly rare. Second of all, many men get killed by their wives/girlfriends only except when that happens, the women are celebrated as
Feminist heroines and let off with a slap on the wrist.
Quote:
It is there whenever someone uses "pussy" or "little girl" as an insult or the butt of a joke
So apparently women, who are our equals, are oppressed by the very
words we use when talking to eachother.
Quote:
It is there when feminine things and feminine behavior are looked down upon by society as inferior, but at the same time women are supposed to act feminine to be "true" women.
Uhm... it is
Feminist who bash the shit out of feminine things (except when guys do it, then it's okay). And our culture encourages women to do manly things to pretend that they are large and in charge. The only social expectation of women in America that I can think of is that they shave their legs and armpits. And that is only relevant for women who publicly show their legs and armpits, which if they dressed like men, they wouldn't be doing, ironically.

It is in the underrepresentation of women not only in political office, but in political activism, journalism, business, film, music, and academia.
Then maybe women should run for more offices, be more politically active, write more articles, start more businesses, make more films, play more music and become academics. There is nothing stopping them from doing this.
Here is the biggest problem with
Feminism: Instead of going to women and telling them to get their shit together they want to instead complain to men about how men are actually responsible for women's failures and that men need to fix things so women can finally be equal.
Quote:
It is there whenever a magazine or newspaper is divided between the "real" copy and the "womens" copy or section.
The women's section is there to appeal to women readers you dumbass. It isn't men's fault women like stupid bullshit.
Quote:
It is there when men are not expected to show emotion and therefore become more numb to emotion
Men are expected not to publicly cry like little bitches, which I consider a good thing. Ofcourse men are not discouraged from showing or even having emotions, though. The problem is, you know you will never be able to make women stop crying so you are instead trying to make men into a bunch of pussies to even things out.

It is there in the invisibility of stay at home dads (SAHDs).
They aren't invisible at all. There are many of them and they have been a well known phenomena since the mid 80's at least. Hell, Sarah Palin's husband Todd is a stay at home dad.
Quote:
It is there in the fact that the U.S. is the only industrialized country not to offer paid maternity leave.
So women are equal, but they need special laws that require businesses to pay them for not working. Got it.
Quote:
Most of all it is there in the constant demonization of feminism and constant denial of sexism.
Because
Feminism is whiny bullshit that instead of telling women to accomplish something seeks instead to blame women's collective failure to achieve jack shit in 5000 years of civilzation on the men who were actually building a more advanced and prosperous world.
As for the denial of sexism, I agree that the denial of sexism against men (inspired by
Feminism) is a big problem.
